You all need to take this into consideration for CORRALES-CASAMAYOR III

The reason why the weight made such a difference in castillo-corrales II, is because that was an inside fight. both fighters were landing huge shots, but castillo had five extra pounds of force to put behind his shots.

In CORRALES-CASAMAYOR III, there is gonna be more of a boxng match. Corrales will catch casamayor with some big shots early, but not often enough to get casamayor out early due to the weight issues.

im not saying corrales doesnt have a big advantage, because he most certainly does. All im saying is, this advantage wont make AS big a difference as it did in the castillo fight.

Not saying castillo's weight problems were worse, because i am equally disgusted in both fighters, but dont think this is gonna be a repeat of corrales-castillo II

      Don't forget though:

I think it was obvious Castillo wasn't straining his body to make weight. He was smug about it, went away and came back heavier.

They've already said Corrales has been eating nothing but ice, and has been in the sauna for hours.

It's clear he's really tried to cut weight, and that can weaken him.

When Castillo did it he was stronger because he did the opposit and ate and drank gatoraid.

Depends which of the fighters stressed their body more tryin' to take off the weight. I'm not really sure how much of an advantage Castillo had in fight #2. Even though he came in over the limit, he may have drained himself more than Corrales, and the same can be said for Corrales over Casa. I think with Corrales this could be a big problem if he feels really fatigued from having stressed his body so badly tryin' to weigh in. I think it all really depends on how well Corrales recovers by tomorrow.

          very good point.

im sure ur still gonna see the same fight u would have seen without the weight issues.

still gonna be very competitive and an awsome action fight. im still looking very forward to it. I still think maybe it should have been cancelled.

and let me ask u this, when a fighter doesnt make weight, why cant they just post-pone the fight a week or 2???

Way to complicated. They have the arena booked for a particular day, as well as TV air-time or PPV rights etc. I think it's far to hard to reschedule, especially when there's no guarantee of the fighter making weight in a couple weeks.

because of the tv dates and openings with hbo and showtime.

Well the fact is that they both have come in overweight. Corrales himself even said that in the 3rd round (rematch) he could tell Castillo was breathing very heavy, but you bring up some very good points. I belive if Corrales doesn't knockout Casa early in the fight (which I doubt) Casa will have his way with Corrales due to fatigue and those 2 wars with Castillo will not have helped him in anyway, plus Casa looked really great at the weigh-in.

Utter bull**** about Castillo being smug and not trying. What do any of you know about him not trying to make weight? I sure as hell saw him half dead laying down on the floor as depleted as you can be. After all he's talked about it, now Corrales should get just as much blame and flak from the fans and press. Is he a coward now? All the Corrales bandwagin jumpers that said that Castillo was trying to get out of fighting Corrales a third time, so I guess that goes the same for your boy now against Casamayor in EXACTLY the same scenario.

I say again, this is so ironic it's beautiful.

Ah, but you forget that Castillo weighed 2 pounds less at fight time than Corrales did. So, your theory about being 5 pounds heavier is wrong. They both weighed in for the PPV scales that night and Castillo weighed LESS than Chico. Chico had the weight advantage that night.
