add to fact that he wasnt able to fully recover and still koed a HEAVIER Corrales.
why is everyone bringing castillo into what i said? i never even mentioned him!

and it would be cool to see castillo meet up with corrales again down the line. But its cool how the trilogy ended now, with all the controversy and everything. and i dont think i could survive watching another fight like the first. lol

      • heh I bet Casa takes the fight regardless. He wants the cash and what better way to say bow down then to KO a heavier Chico. Plus, I think Casa believes (and so do I) that Chico's chin just isn't the same after the 2 wars with JLC and the last one ending with that brutal left hook.

Looks like the fight between Diego Corrales and Jorge Casamayor will go on. If Casamayor wins, he claims the WBC lightweight title outright. If Corrales (who forfeit the title on the scale) wins, the belt remains vacant, however Casamayor would be entitled to an immediate fight with WBC interim titlist David Diaz, even if he loses. There will be a second weigh-in Saturday at noon and neither can weigh over 147 lbs. Corrales will be fined $200,000 bu the Nevada Commission, $100,000 of which will go to Casamayor. There are still undisclosed issues ($$) between the camps, but as of now we have a fight

              • CORRALES-CASAMAYOR III STILL ON!
                By G. Leon

Despite coming in four pounds overweight, former world lightweight champion Diego Corrales will still face Joel Casamayor on Showtime Championship Boxing tomorrow night. Corrales has been fined $200,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. An additional weigh-in will take place tomorrow at noon and both fighters cannot weigh more than 147 pounds. If Casamayor defeats Corrales he will become the new WBC lightweight champion. If Corrales wins, Casamayor and David Diaz would fight for the vacant title. More to follow, until then Remember where you heard it first!

                • Agreed jose, I think Corrales' chin is a big question mark, more than people say. Sure, he's been down alot, but previously he never seemed as hurt as he was after that left hook. Add in the struggle to make weight here, and a very pissed off and now officially having nothing-to-lose, Casamayor will go for the kill and if I think he may get it.

If so, Corrales will move up to 140 or 147 off two tough losses, a weigh-in embarassment of his own, and huge chin question marks. He may be closer to the end that anyone realizes. I AM NOT SAYING HE IS DONE RIGHT NOW, I am just saying people will start to think that if he is TKO'd tomorrow.
