You say it won't do anything (which is false) so it makes sense to take on a lesser known fighter who's also a lesser challenge?

Williams is a name at Welter, and a win over him trumps a win over Clottey.

Add to that it's a mandatory defense, and there's no denying it.

Of course it would be a better fight but it still wouldn't do jack **** for him, beating Clottey and Williams both would still gain him 0 credit. I bet you guy's that Margarito/Willaims will happen sometime 2007. Margarito needs important wins on his resume.

Williams is a more important fight that Clottey, AND he's his mandatory.

Saying they both do nothing is not correct, and a cop out.

Williams is a much more significant win than Clottey, and you know it.

It makes no sense to say one fighter isn't a big fight and then fight a lesser opponent.

in any case margarito will fight williams after the clottey fight..that is guaranteed but one thing is for sure...gayweather will never fight margarito period.
