Big Fan off Kessler seen a few off his bouts before he the real deal!, and he should easily beat Beyer ova 12 rounds, But i don't think him beating Beyer cAN place him in as number1 SMW no chance off it, Calzaghe a masterful boxer and 41-0 record with i believe 18 defences off this titles is miles ahead off the supermiddleweight divisions main contenders, i believe Kessler has to take at least one more bout after the Beyer bout maybe Vs someone like Andrade or Lacy to really have me thinkin he has a chance Vs calzaghe.Comment

Your former sparrign partner?? Glenn Catley was brought in for you to spar? Is Geoff Hayes your real name, and if yes, then why aren't you registered at boxrec, if you were good enough to have a one time world title holder as a sparring partner?Beyer is a joke, even my former sparring partner Glenn Catley (who Joe KTFO in the '92 ABA final) beat him. If Woodhall was in better shape (not rusty and injured) Beyer would of hardly stood a chance against him, and Woodhall would of won the decision comfortably without the KD's anyway.
I'd pick Froch, Bute, Brahmer, Veit and Lacy to beat Beyer every single time.Comment

I sparred with Catley quite abit in the mid-late 90's, not as much as I sparred with Dean Francis though. Dean was a far better fighter, may of even beaten Calzaghe.Comment

Why do you always say that?
Are you talking about stylisticly? Because he wasn't that good of a fighter from what I've seen.Comment

At his best he was awesome, when he nailed his prep/condition and his shoulder was good. At his best, I mean when he opened up and let those heavy combo's fly. He had the best left jab in Europe IMO, one of the best stiff left jabs anywhere and gave Joe arguably his toughest amateur fight (two rounds of mayhem in the '92 ABA semi) - the pro's suited Dean much better because he needed time to settle in and find his range, he lost Starie at the '93 ABA's but avenged it in the pro's, beating Starie in far more impressive fashion than Joe managed. He also anihilated Cornelius Carr in much more emphatic fashion that Steve Collins. He was quite frightening when he got into the swings of things, was in good shape and let rip.Last edited by GEOFFHAYES; 10-02-2006, 03:20 PM.Comment
