    Man Hearns sounds so bad now. Who besides for the Sugar Rays could beat him at welter? I say nobody.

      Ummm...Hagler lol.

      Hearns thought process seems fine, but yeah his speech is slurred.

        The cruel nature of boxing...seeing Hearns and others in such a condition is hard to watch...

          First time I heard Atlas have that take on the Douglas (vs Tyson fight): Atlas said that he thought that Douglas was tiring, which there is some proof in that since Buster wasn't throwing the same amount of punches and his hands were starting to drop, but I am not sure if it would of made a difference since Tyson looked very tired too, let alone looking like ****...though Teddy's point was that if it happened 20 seconds earlier, Douglas would have had that boost from his corner, Douglas would of mentaly folded, and Tyson would of finished him...Teddy said the knockdown (when Buster went down), plus the bell ringing as soon as he got up, that total time till the next round, gave he a breather.
          {They aren't the exact words, just the point he was making}

          Even though Teddy can be harsh on Tyson, I did notice a while back that Teddy's really animosity towards Mike might be his disappointment in what "Tyson" was supposed to represent, supposed to do: Atlas said on Friday Night Fights, after the loss to Danny Williams, something on the lines of >> Tyson's failure was that he didn't use his Icon status to connect with the youth, troubled youth, to help better the culture...something like that...kind of like the Ali of his generation...it's the waste of talent, the waste of potential

              So back to my original question, for those that believe in the saying, "If you stand up to the bully, he will fold", How come it didn't work for Joe Frazier against George Foreman?

                it was a styles matchup. a swarmer is alot of the time going to lose to a fighter who has one punch knockout power. he was a real blue collar hard working tough man, with a left hook that found it's way into every deep part of the guts of his opponents non stop. unfortunately, he was up against a bull who could take his punches and give them out with reckless power.

                  You guys watching Dempsey on now, what about him vs George...I wonder how much weight Jack could put on if he was fighting today, without having it effect him to much
