Do you regard Hatton's borderline physical infractions as "cheating"?

Did you see the "sitcom" sketch he did with his dad in the SKY promos before Maussa? It was ****ing crap, wasn't it?
    They did a sitcom?

I must have missed it, I wasn't much of a Sky Sports user until '06, I used to download all the fights online.

They showed Hatton helping his dad out with the carpet business and put the Steptoe and Son music over the top. Hatton was ****ing it up in a series of stagey, obviously set-ups escapades. It was about two minutes long.

Do you think VB Martin is Hatton's natural enemy? Look at that pink face, The Paler would hate him, wouldn't he?

Surprised this thread didn't pick up a few more replies, guess it must have been a busy week.

It should also put paid to all those "Yo, Anorak, you're a Brit so you nuthug Hatton" BS posts. With Hatton, as with ALL boxers, I talk about them objectively... unless it's Danny Williams. He's a great shag.

He defo uses strategic low blows. It's not cheating. He takes the ref's caution, as he did after losing a round to to Juan "Romance In" Urango. Cheating is poisoning the opponent's water bottle, bribing the judges, etc. A strategic low blow is just gamesmanship.

Hatton hasn't been disqualified for anything, right? So there's no way his style and antics can be considered cheating. We can say that he's dirty fighter down to the limit but that's no cheating.

It's just not a pleasant and acceptable way of winning fights especially to a fighter who's talking ****s of going down as an ATG.

yeah I think it's cheating, I mean I have never seen a clinch every ten seconds. I was ready to smash my Tele. He doesn't seem to know how to fight any other way though. pure little ricky

When he made an appearance as a guest on Friday Night Fights , he did a good breakdown of his bully tactics.

The grabbing is actually pretty slick. Early on he will crowd and grab and move you just for a second, not long enough to truly tie up, and then fire off shots and back off by angling away, hopefully, avoiding stiff counters. Basically, fooling a bit, like, "I'm gonna' tie you up- Wham!- No I'm not!"

Obviously, when he gets worried/tired, we see that he just turns that into a full clinch, he'll even ****ing dive in for it, and it looks bad.

But no, its not technically cheating. What impressed me of the breakdown he gave was that he flat-out, honestly, acknowledged that it was borderline and that he had basically developed a style of bullying that he could get away with.

For people that get upset- Hey, even Ali did dirty head grabbing. There are rules, and there are loopholes.

it may not be cheating, but its technically boring and its starting to be as about as exciting as the next corey spinks bout.
