Second, you say "lets not give him the excuse", well it is a valid "excuse" if it is true, or at least an understanding as to why he didn't look like his usual self...since he did win the second fight more clearly, which a lot those that rip on Floyd forget or don't like to mention, it does show that there was the possiblity that Floyd had an "Off night" either do to injury or whatever the reason may be...that doesn't mean Castillo didn't have an "Off Night" either for the second fight.

It is also probably harder than you think to cancel a fight so close to fight time...a lot of money is being invested in the fight, people get pissed, including the fans that spent so much time and money with plane tickets and hotel rooms

If your not a Mayweather lover, than the post does not apply to you does it? Mayweather didn't look his usual self b/c was presented with a fighter who went toe to toe with him every step of the way and pressured him constantly and went to the body and slowed him down. I've seen Gatti fight throw broken hands and he still goes out there and gives it everything he has and I don't see him making excuses. And yes, it may be hard to cancel a fight but if your getting paid millions of dollars to do so, I'd think that you would want to fight either way. And if you DO decide to fight either way, then there are no excuses.

You cancel a fight, it might be hard to do business with the same people...People don't like to lose money...it can wear on you mentally knowing that you are going into a fight not at your best

I am not positive that Mayweather was injured prior to the fight, that's what was said...I do agree that Castillo posed a problem in that fight, but it makes you wonder what the reason for having trouble with him the first time when you do much better the second time.

So Mayweather didn't give it his all?

Yes, others fight with injuries as well

What makes his injury somewhat credible is the fact that not only did he rematch him, Castillo never looked like he was in the fight the second time around. Most of the time, i dont really believe that ****, but his actions kind of spoke louder than words.

I think mayweather gets a bad rap on here, and alot of places, and i think i know why. but it would take a whole new thread to explain why. There are many things about floyd that remind me alot of sugar ray robinson and thats a big reason why i say that.

The winner of the Mayweather-Castillo 1 fight is Split by a lot of people many thought that Castillo won that fight and some thought Mayweather won.

I think I know why to. It is called racism, I bet you dkknight is not black. Hating on floyd gives him and others like him a sense of satisfaction on the negative side. If floyd were white or mexican he would be considered the greatest of alltime. Floyd beat castillo twice by Unanimous decision....

No. Dont put words in my mouth. My reasoning is a bit more complicated than that.

Mayweather is as human as the rest of us. He had a bad day the go around with Castillo but got the gift decision. Second time he gave Castillo a boxing lesson, which is what he should have done the first time. Maybe they should go for number 3?

I know you guys want him to have a perfect record and everything, but I hate to break it to you, he really lost that fight. He was given a gift. The second time, yes, Mayweather did take care of Castillo, but we're not talkign about that fight we're talking about the first one. You Mayweathers lovers just better be happy that the fight took place in LV else ur prize fighter would have 1 blemish on his record.
Not really, cause he still won a close decision. Mayweather might not be the first to fight with an injury, but he also not the first to be handed a gift decision(if that what you think it was). I'm a Mayweather fan, but I see things as they are; He won a controversial decision the first time(like it or not), he felt that he could do a lot better, took an immediate rematch & proved who the better man was, I'd have respect for any fighter who did that

Floyd pisses a lot of people off when he runs his mouth, but sometimes he can be funny, for example: remember when he fought Diego and said something like, "I hope Diego's wife is there so I can beat up Diego in front of her, for her...I will beat him up like he beat her up"...something on those lines.

Floyd fans will know the exact words so just correct me

lol are you dumb or just ignorant?

What in the world does me "hating" on Mayweather have anything to do with racism? I don't care if he's black white or green, I go based on his boxing skillz not the color of his skin. I don't like Mayweather b/c he's a ****y SOB. I don't get any satisifaction for "hating" on him. I think he's a great boxer the best out there right now and one of the greats of all time. I won't take that away from him. But doesn't mean I have to like him. And I guess since he's black then automaticly its "Oh he's bashing the black guy! RACISM!!..." yeah very typical type of thinking from ignorant people such as yourself.

But I digress, Mayweather was beaten fair and square in the first fight and was given a gift decision. Wether your a Mayweather fan or not, you cannot, without a shadow of a doubt, refute that statement. At BEST, it was a draw. And that's giving Mayweather a gift. That's all Im saying. This isnt about "hating" on anyone or bashing a particular race or anything.. I'm telling you how I saw it. Everyone is entitiled to their opinion and how they saw it and that's why I'm here. To conversate with people with similar and opposing views and get insight from diff sources. Bigtime9, you need to grow up.
