Now this is one of the few match ups that would actually be a match, for me these two could have a trilogy type deal going on with a 2-1 outcome in favour of Duran.

Both great fighters with unbelievable heart and skill.

        Duran was not Mexican.

A focused Duran would beat JCC by either KO or UD. Too ferocious. Too mean. Too dirty. He could beat you clean...or dirty, depends on how much he hated you.

I am a huge fan of both guys. If you are not a master boxer or great defensively you can't beat Duran. Chavez is basically a poor mans Duran but a better body puncher. I don't think Duran would knock him out but he had the tools to win an easy decision.

these people who are saying chaves was any thing near duran need to actually go watch the 2 fighters fight ... its 2 different worlds!

duran could move duck and come back

              chaves kept going forward

chaves castillio are alot alike but duran has nothing to do with any of them

chavez could fight leanord 50 times and never win, it took duran 1 try, chavez was great no doubt, but duran a little greater

as for duran chaves...anyone who knows half of boxing would know duran would waste chaves just for the fact that duran could do it ALL ...ALL OF IT!

chaves was good at all of it but he was best at slugging ...duran was best at ALL OF IT! thats why he was champ for 7 years ...

they were both in there primes at lightweight

im picking up a reason why theres so many views and yet only dumb ass replys
Exactly, people also fail to realize how good a chin Duran had. Duran wasn't KO'd till he went to Middleweight. Even then he was KO'd by Hearns not some regular joe.

Duran had freakish power that was able to translate all the way to middleweight with success. Duran was an extremely well polished defensive fighter and could box extremly well.

Chavez is great but he would've been KO'd by Duran who is an all time p4p great.

Duran is the all time greatest lightweight.
