Khan is already a household name exceeding what Prince Naseem was in '94/'95, probably, but I don't think he's quite a McGuigan in that respect and could never be a Bruno or Eubank.

your right bruno was special to the british fans they were obsesed with his wins and his losses and his frangle mental state made him much more popular because people could kinda feel him ya know, not to mention he had great ability.Comment

Amir Khan is not as big as Naseem Hamed once was in Britain.
Everybody knew the Prince, Amir is pretty big though, even my Nan knows who he is.Comment

'Prince Naseem' was quite big in '94/'95, but everybody kind of forgot about him when he went over to Sky.
Amir was on the Paul O'Grady show on ITV1 last year
Naz never really appeared on any TV shows.. and millions more people tuned in to Amir's Olympic fights than Naz's ITV fights.

Amir Khan
Ricky Hatton
Joe Calzaghe
Probably in that order. The rest? Absolutely nowhere. Warren's move over to ITV will help 2 of those, and possibly some others. Sky has been a benefit in many respects in making some quality fights over here, but it'll always be hidden away on the sports channel.Comment

The British public aren't very aware of Calzaghe.. Lacy fight only drew 4 million viewers (Eubank demanded 20 million every time out). Maybe more so now, since his last two fights have been on ITV, but nah, the general public don't know him.
Hatton? Sorry, he's unknown to the general public outside of Manchester.Comment

I agree, Hatton is unknown.
Calzaghe is known as a British sportsman, but other than that not many know much about his boxing (Most likely because he's Welsh), Amir Khan has a big following, when Danny Williams fought on a main header against a nobody, something like 50% of the people in attendance were there to see Khan fight in a 4 rounder.
Audley Harrison also had a decent following when he fought on BBC, but that doesn't surpass the bubble of hype that surrounds Khan.Comment

Audley Harrison is a much bigger name in Britain than Hatton and Calzaghe, sad as that may sound.Comment
