WBC orders an Immediate Toney Peter rematch?

    (from 2nd's out dot com)

WBC order Peter to face Toney again

By Ray Kilgore: Promoter Dan Goossen has informed this reporter that he just received word that the WBC has mandated a rematch between the highly controversial fight involving James "Light's Out" Toney and Samuel Peter.

In an excellent heavyweight bout to effectively determine the WBC No.1 contendership position, Peter took a split decision off Light's Out in Los Angeles on September 2, with scores of 116-111 twice to a 112-115 scoreline which favoured Toney.

Now Goossen says he will start planning the details of the fight in the weeks to come.

I wonder if Maskeav is going to accept the challenge from Hopkins now. This is getting odd.

          What do you mean?

A huge majority had Toney winning, doesn't that mean this is the right call by the WBC?

What's BS about this decision if it's true?

hell yeah. We need more decisions made like this and that is why the WBC is the best belt and the world belt. Tony was robbed and he is deserving of a fair shot.

This is actually bull****. What's the point of having judges if the sanctioning body is just going to essentially overrule them?

If they are that concerned about their judges they should hire better ones. The botom line is, they think the rematch will be PPV material and they want another cut of what they think will be a big purse. it has nothing to do with what happened in the ring.

There are "bad" decisions all the time; but scoring is subjective by nature. While I had Toney winning, I don't think it was an out-out robbery; and just want to see someone else besides the two fat guys fight.
