I agree.......Abraham showed incredible heart but little more.I can't believe Miranda did not end up stopping him even though he actually did if the Ref would have done his job.Either way a rematch is the only way to settle this mess.......Double PPV in the Spring of next year.....Winky/Taylor II and Miranda/Abraham II winners fight to make it undisputed.
Miranda was robbed

If there is a rematch, Ill go with an Abraham KO.
The little words that Arthur could speak in the hospital he said "He would have finished the fight in the 6th had he not broken his jaw"Comment

In short, Miranda robbed himself of a chance to win this fight...
i seriously find Abraham EQUALLY as strong as Miranda.. i think, however, that Miranda can take a good punch. Abraham was never hurt in the fight, while Miranda did stagger more than once.. even staggering a few times after Abraham had lost as much blood as he did
Miranda threw way too many low-blows and was well-penalized for them, not the mention the obvious head-butt..
Abraham is a soldier, he looked to have fought with a broken jaw for another 6 rounds of this fight. He was SMART in those last 3 rounds, he was up on scorecards by nearly 9-10 points, and he probably had the broken jaw in serious pain, why stand there to get hit by a powerful Miranda? A veteran move there by the young guy. Miranda dug himself in a whole thanks to his dirty tactics but Abraham won the fight. Miranda threw wide while Abraham was the more accurate of the two.
Add another candidate for FOTY in 06'. I guarentee DiBella knows the name. A middleweight with very underrated power and "veteran"-like patience in the ring. Great effort by both, if Miranda would steer clear of the dirty stuff, he'd have a chance, i really liked his inside fighting, just too many low blows.
Exciting fight any way you look at it. Hopefully more American fight fans can get their hands on this fight.
(BTW, i'm sorry but this was FAR from a robbery.. Abraham won the fight, clearly and fairly)Last edited by restless_438; 09-25-2006, 02:06 PM.Comment

To Hell with the Title
Whoever has any knowledge of boxing sport should have realized what a disgraceful theatre that Saturday trinket title fight was in reality.
Couple of people that tried to give another point of view are just getting "**** off...." , "Abraham's hook is twice...." , Miranda bla..bla.." , " Are you his girlfriend etc" sort of crap.
What most of you miss to see is the point. And the point isn't in barking and foaming about who has the "stronger left hook" and "had he not broke his jaw...." kind of crap.
The point is : What are you ready to "sacrifice" sitting on your sofa so that you can flex your balls with someone's else blood and health being left in the ring ?
Some of you simply refuse to see facts being completely obsessed offending around. The first ring Doc had stopped the fight and Abraham initially said "No" after being asked about capability to continue. Yet, after that Sauerland pig and that senile marionette Uli Wegner really pressed him, he kind of shrugged his shoulders like : "I can't really fight no more, but I have to because they say so". What is the doctor's role according to the rules ? To protect the fighter or listen and obey the manager ? Did any of you see Abraham's brother reaction after the fight ?
Just a hypotethical question for you: What if his jaw took permanent damage after being so badly beaten and getting multi-fractured jaw ? Will you pay his pension and social security ? Do you really think that Sauerland Arsch will do it ? Ever heard of career ending injury ? Because that is what you're rooting for here. Don't tell me one of you is his chirurg, already knowing "Abraham will fight in spring" , "he'll recover" etc. Or you trust Sauerland saying "he'll be back training in 3-4 months".
What is utterly disturbing is that Sauerland (his Trainer included) is ready to go over bodies of his own young and talented fighters preferring his promotional fees and betting money and that IBF boxing commission (like any other unfortunately) is eagerly playing the crooked game for the right price.
Not to mention the ring Doc and the Ref whose sole purpose of existing should have been protection of the fighters and enforcement of boxing rules.
They definitely didn't protect Abraham when they had to.
So guys, keep it cool and try to use your heads for thinking, not your....#####...... Cheers !!!Last edited by m1rco; 09-27-2006, 09:06 PM.Comment

I even recognize couple of guys here as fellow members of some "only by invitation" sites, which they use to download this and other fights from.
You know who you are. I'm wondering why are you not so brave and bold there, being obviously the only one that carry the absolute boxing truth. Why you didn't prove your point there using such foul language ?
What most of you miss to see is the point. And the point isn't in barking and foaming about who has the "stronger left hook" and "had he not broke his jaw...." kind of crap.

Googler and Vanes... to be honest I would have thought more of you two to be so biased to call Miranda a dirty fighter and disgraceful. You are so wrapped up in your ****ing country that you are blind to the truth and it's hard to listen to your opinions. After the BS **** that happened in the ring, Miranda held up Abraham's hand after Buffer giving him the UD and pointed #1. That's class!
You also have to be idiots to think all 5 points were deserved. How many times do you see 1 warning from a ref on a low blow and than points deductions for anything close. A ref always gives 2-3 warnings and sometimes more. There was 1 true low blow in all and far from intentional.
As far as the headbutt, even the ref was going to only give a warning and continue the fight until Abraham walked to his corner holding his head (good acting and smart for Abraham to do, may have saved him the fight).
Only than did the ref decide to deduct not 1, but 2 points.
So let's be real here. MIRANDA WAS NOT DIRTY and the ref was very biased. Notice I am not taking anything away from Abraham or his ability. Just very easy to see how the fight was impossible for Miranda to win.
Good thing for Abraham is people quickly forget what happen and just see a Win or a Lose for the fight.
based upon this video, i have to agree that miranda is not a dirty fighter

While i'm sure this is an "alternative-members" posting here, i can agree that while Abraham did win the fight (whether it was before or after the incident), the people around him seemed like they could do more to help Abraham himself. I don't speak German, but from what i could gage, that looked to be the situation, as Arthur's brother seemed pretty upset after the fight. Well buddy, what's an "alternative-member" around here ? I hope it doesn't make my opinion less worthy and if so then I definitely won't waste any of my (in that case surely yours too), time any more. While I'm the kind of a guy that follows professional boxing for years, this is the site where I jump just occasionally to check news or so without being the active forum participant. Everyone is guest and new somewhere sometimes.
After reading what some people thought of as "contribution" to this thread, I just kind of felt like adding my own two cents. I do speak German, actually I live there and I can tell you that AA's crew screwed him big time by letting him stay in, for their greedy reasons and his brother definitely had the problem with it. Unfortunately, money played it's role and I think that after initial exchanges he had with Uli Wegner (the trainer), they managed to shut him up. Don't ask me what they promised him for keeping his mouth shut.
Anyway, announced yesterday, AA has suffered double jaw fracture and got himself "free" piece of titanium plate to help the healing process after spending 3 days in the hospital. There is no comment as to whether and when he'll be able to fight again. And if that "seemed like they could do more to help Abraham himself" , I'll say HELL YES, it seemed so !
Thanx to "Red_Menace" for the props, it's much appreciated !!!

Miranda was overhyped. Get over it. He's nothing special, and Abraham is tougher than we all thought. To put up with all that **** and still win is very impressive. Taylor will roll him though.Comment

Diego- For real did you REALLY watch the fight? If so tell me what rounds Abraham won (ignore the points that were deducted, just tell me round by round who won). I just watched it yet again and it is such a joke to hear people like you defend the decision.Comment
