I don't count Tarver, Tarver was the better man out of the two.

Alright I'm going to go into detail about where them opponents stand.

Virgil Hill - De-throwned by DM before hand, if he'd done it early it would be alot more credible.

Montell Griffin - He was behind on the scorecards before hitting him when he went down, Montell Griffin had beaten James Toney, bad match up for Toney, but credit is still due, he did, but that's the only credible win he had in his whole career.

Julio Gonzalez - Has lost to Erdei and Woods, does that make them HOF material? I thought not.

Reggie Johnson - Already beaten by Toney in his prime, John David Jackson and Castro, he was a pro for 15 years when Jones beat him.

Clinton Woods - Has been beaten by Starie (Who Calzaghe beat) and Johnson, it's clear to say he's only champion because the division is scattered right now.

If you consider those opponents highly rated then YOU are an idiot.

I think the question is who was the better Super middleweight? Calzaghe or Sven Ottke, Ottke defended his title 25 times and was Unified, a champion for many years

Virgil Hill won the WBA LW and defended 10 times and won the crusierweight twice, the last one at age 41. Tell me if any of the mention fighter have better resume then freaking Hill.

On the Lacy fight alone he should be.

Lacy was the greatest prospect in American boxing history the way people were talking, and Calzaghe won every minute of every round.

Without the Lacy fight, no way IMO.

Plus when you get Barry McGuigan conceeding than Joe is the best British boxer of the last 25 years, on national TV, that is pretty strong.

Lacy was overexposed. He was never an elite fighter, he was just whored to us because the networks and Everlast thought he was going to be the "Next Tyson". JC beat a nobody, and now everyone's on his nuts

And read back, I've said several times Roys accomplishments surpass Calzaghe's, but the opponents in the second half of his career DO NOT.

                      ****ing hell.
Not 100% true. Longest reigning doesn't make you "the man". If he was the linear champ your the man. Longest reigning in this day doesn't make you so. Hopkins was the man for this reason.
