i feel like calzaghe would have a lot of problems with bernard stylistically - bernard is a counterpuncher who's best punch is the counter right hand....calzaghe is a southpaw, vulnerable to lead right hands just due to his stance.

i personally would way rather see hopkins fight a legitimate, ranked fighter like calzaghe then a half-assed heavyweight champ like maskaev.

Oleg probably wouldn't even have to tag Hopkins on the chin or jaw to knock him down. He might even hit Bernard's gloves and still knock him down. Some of you guys aren't acknowledging the size difference between the two. Hopkins might pack some muscle on his frame, but he's nearing his body's limits. He's 6'1 but his frame is very slight, and even a jab on his gloves from Oleg would be draining. I'd say that if Hopkins could last the whole fight he'd get the nod, but if he gets hit much at all, even if he's just blocking jabs, I'd look for him to be exhausted by the 7th or 8th round. Remember that a big part of Jones winning the belt from Ruiz was the ref protecting Jones from getting worked over on the ropes. That fight could have gone very differently if Ruiz had been allowed to be physical with Jones like he is with everyone else. IMO Hopkins is too small for Oleg and Oleg's heavy hands would be a huge problem for B-Hop, I don't see this as a gimme fight at all.
