The disadvantage Hopkins puts on himself by moving up in weight alone, makes this fight more difficult than a Calzaghe fight.

For Hopkins to successfully make a run from middleweight to light-heavyweight to heavyweight, would be an acheivement unlike any ever before in boxing, regardless of the opponent. (Less we forget, the man is 40 years old)

Stick to the ****ing lounge jack.

Calzaghe (a southpaw btw) would throw 1000 punches, Nard would have to fight at a pace he has never ever fought at....Oleg will be extrordinarily slow and throw 1/3 the amount of punches.

Your right Jack bigger is tougher.

Now cmon, get back in that lounge.

have u ever wondered why he hasnt had 2 fight at a fast pace, its because he neutralises (sp) a fighters positives and turns them 2 a negative

"1000 punches"? We're talking about Joe Calzaghe, not Kassim Ouma. We're alittle too high on Joe, aren't we??

And if we look at the "Joe Calzaghe fight chart", isn't he not due to fight a caliber fighter until at least the end of 07?

Shilstone just wants another high-profile fight. All of this Hopkins-Maskaev discussion is pointless. Hopkins was run out of the middleweight division, so he's cherry-picking at higher weights. If he still thinks he has something to prove, call out Winky! Or Calzaghe! That would be far, far more impressive.

not entirely true: Oleg hits a hell of a lot harder than Joe "I must have hit Lacy 1000 times but didn't knock him out" Calzaghe...If a bigger man hits you, and it doesn't have to be clean, it takes energy out of you...take 1 solid shot from a heavyweight like Oleg it is going to do some damage to Hopkins's stamina...we all saw what happened to Oscar when he was hit by Bernard, same concept.

Oleg's also better for Legacy Points and MONEY...

I don't think anyone would say that Joe has a better chance at knocking Bernard out than Oleg.

Bernard has also had to fight pressure fighters that throw a lot of punches, it was just many, many, many years ago

Hopkins should of moved up a while ago to Light-Heavyweight...he had to fight to conservative for the past 4 or so years because his body had long out-grown the division...there is only so much and so many years a body can take staying at a certain weight.
