jeff lacy is the highest rocognized fighter he has beat,and hes american,all british fighters look for fights with americans to get out there name,obviously he feels he has reached a goal,he is obviously goin to brag about it,what should he do,brag about beatin a lesser fighter?that would make even less sense,i dont know much about lacy,all i know is he was undefeated,and joe beat him,im not kissin calzaghes arse,i hardly know anythin about him,it jus makes sense for him to brag,just like u would

It was not a huge win by any means. It was an impressive performance in that he dominated a guy most people figured would beat him. In retrospect, Lacy was not nearly as good as Showtime made him out to be. Wright's domination of Trinidad was twice as impressive because Trinidad has an impressive history. Lacy's biggest win was Scott Pemberton/Omar Sheika/Robin Reid. Take your pick. None of them are great wins. Calzaghe and his fans can't go a day without mentioning the Lacy shut-out as though it even ranks up there with Mayweather's domination of Gatti. Newsflash: it doesn't. Fight the winner of Kessler-Beyer, who, without a doubt, will be a more proven fighter than Lacy was.

did it hit a nerve when Lacy hit the canvas in round 12 ?

the victory is great for calzaghe because he never had a chance to win the fight by 90% boxing fans , he was built up as a 168 mike tyson , he had a undifeated record and held 2 world titles , calzaghes days where over at 34 and lacy was seen as the future , joe , jeff and the whole boxing world held this fight as a carear defining moment but everybody forgot to mention that only counted for lacy.
the fact that this "complete fighter" (pre calzaghe) got a boxing masterclass he got "exposed" and will never be held in as high regard again but because he got schooled in such a high fashion it has tainted the win by about 80% of the credit it deserves

joe calzaghe dominated lacy. a speedy southpaw with a height and reach advantage vs a left hooker with no jab is a stylistic nightmare, and it showed. joe calzaghe hasnt beaten anyone else of note (that wasnt way past their prime) and lacy hasnt either.

i would love to see hopkins smack the **** out of calzaghe just to shut him and 2tough's mouths.

I seen the fight quit a while.

Calzaghe dominated Lacy because Lacy allowed him to do so.

He did not block Calzaghe shot, throw nearly a nil of punch, just concentrating on KOing Calzaghe with the Left Hook and didnt even try to set it up or wear down Calzaghe and that cost him dearly.

He should box before using his power.

Silly. I'm no Joe fan at ALL but lets not discount this win. Pretty much everyone was picking Lacy to DESTROY him especially around here.

And what did he do? The exact opposite. Give him some ****in credit. That was brutal one sided asskicking and a great fun to watch performance. Pure art against a highly touted contender.

As for his fanboys you're dead on about that. The reason they do that is that they know he probably wont end up fighting anyone else because he hasn't his whole career. Not like that's going to change now.

I was probably the only person on this forum didn't think highly of Lacy, I always said put him against Bitchkins or Taylor he will lose, but I never really respected ****zaghe either. But the better man won that night!

And nothing will ever shut up 2tough's mouth so don't bother, even if a fighter loses he'll still go on about it. Move on, the rest of us have.
