Gonzalez v Vasquez - Bad Stoppage

Just like to say first what a fight and a genuine contender with Barrios v Guzman for fight of the year, I cant believe the cornerman of Gonzalez stopped this fight the guy was up on all scorecards and fighthing really well when he gets knocked down in the 10th round just when you think he`s going to get up on the eight count and sail to a comfortable points win his cornerman jumps up on the aprion waving a white towel, I couldnt believe my eyes and before anyone says that Vasquez was coming on strong it was because he had to Isreal is a awesome puncher and likes to brawl but Gonzalez was giving him a masterclass with his jab and could have won the title in my eyes quite comfortable, then again Vasquez might of caught him again not taking anything away from Vasquez it was a awesome win but I couldnt believe the fight ended like that and neither could Gonzalez`s father who was also in his corner

    What Do you guys think?

I thought it was an early stoppage, but Gonzalez was just gonna get knocked out anyway... i just wanted to see more damage but then again the fighter can live to fight another day

I dont think so see, If Gonzalez had gotten up there was only 40 odd seconds on the clock he could you hang on and clinched untill the next round where he could have gone back to his jab that had controlled the fight the only reason why he got knocked down is because he tried to make the fight a war

alway they have to see the safetly of the fighter.

sometimes it could lead to devasting brain damage or something worse

Gonzales crumpled to the floor that last time,he didnt have the energy to pump the jab like he had earlier,he was done for the night.

            that was BS
            i was dissapointed
            dissapointed the corner stopped it
but more dissapointed that gonzales didnt protest it
            altho to be fair
            he did look done
            or just in shock
            maybe disbelief
            but either way

I thought the stoppage was definitely pre-mature, but i guess his cornerman would know better then us if he was done. He looked to me like he was getting his composure and could have continued

Gonzalez didn't protest the stoppage one bit. He didn't because he was done, he got up purely on instinct. I don't think their is any way he could have got back to the jab and won the fight. He would have been hurt and his corner knew it, if the fight was allowed to continue.

i agree that at that point Gonzalez was done...

he did not protest or made any sign that he did not agree with the stoppage from his corner ...
