How would Hopkins win against Maskaev? He has never fought at heavyweight before and he's going to jump into a fight against a full sized, very hard hitting tough 6'3 239 pound heavyweight. Hopkins is not James Toney, He's smaller and not the kind of stylist that I think could succeed at heavyweight.

Klitschko beat him, and he got a controversial decision against Toney. Peter has power, but doesn't have the fundamentals to use it aganist good boxers in my opinion. If Maskaev fights his fight, i don't see any reason he can't win convincingly.
I don't think so. Maskaev is a solid fighter but he doesn't have the tools to beat Peter IMO. He is not as quick and skilled as Toney and he is not as quick and big as Wlad. Peter put Wlad down 3 times and almost put Toney down twice. Besides, Peter hits behind the back on the regular basis and Maskaev could get hurt seriously in this fight. I don't think he needs it or wants it.

i don't know about this one. see when roy jones did it he only had to get to 190, hopkins has to get up to 200 now. although hopkins is a couple inches taller then roy, roy has a stockier build then him. hmm i can see hopkins moving and ducking while shooting the right hand straight down the pipe. if oleg gets too close, hopkins will get as close as possible to off set his punches while throwing body shots until the ref brakes them. oleg is damn slow, so i think hopkins can see those one two combos and left hooks coming. this one worrys me though.

            hopes this happens

I think Hopkins can do it, without a question he is skilled enough. I know for sure that if he does it, he'll be a legit heavyweight. Everyone knows that Bernard is always serious when it comes to training, I don't think it would be a problem.

the tarver win is going to hopkins head..if tarver didnt have the weight loss issue he would have been all over hopkins..maskaev is too big and too strong for hopkins

I think that about sums it up. Hopkins can win that fight but it's not what I would call a safe fight for him. But Mackie Shilstone I think could take him up to heavyweight with sufficient strength and Hopkins never let himself go physically so he has a shot at doing well.

Co-sign. Maskaev is an accidental champion. He is terrible.

Hopkins and hopefully Peter will end his championship run.
