    Barrera should retire

In his day Marco Antonio Barrera was one of the best, and I have nothing but respect him him as a great champion. However, his performance last night showed that his time is past. Too many battles have taken their toll and it is beginning to show. Last night he showed a reluctance to engage his opponent despite the fact that Juarez performed poorly. Barrera didn't have to run, he could have counterpunched his way to victory and possibly the knockout. He beat Juarez because Juarez made it easy, but in the world of championship boxing that is not enough. Barrera would have got knocked out again if that had been Pacquiao in the ring with him last night.

Muhammad Ali stayed too long and look at what happend to him.

He has to at least try to avenge his loss to Pacquiao or he'll look like a wuss. If you wanna play that "too old" card, then ask Barrera why he didn't chase the rematch even a year ago? It's been 3 years, and Barrera hasn't even thought about stepping back in with the man who buried him. All we get are excuses about that night, but no attempt to prove them.

pac is too strong and has the eye of the tiger, rocky doesn't have the killer instinct in the ring and is too amataeurish. Pac would retire barrera for good if he thinks a jab os going to keep pac of him

Damn what is it with some people here(not thread starter in general)...i am dissapointed also that it wasnt a war but not dissapointed or let down by Barrera,If anything the fight showed he still has what it takes to dominate someone so easily. If you want war go to UFC but this is boxing, hit and not get hit..the sweet science etc. Plus is next fight (pac most likely) will take a lot out of him so i dont blame him for not wanting to be in a war----all he proved last night is that when he is well rested, free of stress and well conditioned he is a league above many.

You seems to be lost dude or you're simply intentionally ignoring the facts?

That's definitely not a reluctance to engage, that was the game plan all along.

And Juarez performed poorly? Nah wrong again. MAB simply made him look bad. Juarez is one dimensional, who attacks and solely relies on his power. Juarez will always have problem with opponents who doesn't trade. He lost to Soto who employed the same strategy, now that's a fact.
