If barrera can use his jab effectively like he did vs rocky ( look at rocky right eyes close fast) against pac then barrera has a very good chance at beating pac in the rematch. This thread comment is ******. Don't ya think that barrera wanted to stay heathly and ready for a pac fight in march if pac beat morales? you need to think before you type with this ****** thread " barrera should retired" lol come on.

i can't help but to completely disagree.. Barrera is in amazing condition at 32 and he's already stated that he's fighting for another year then he's retiring on his terms.. (which should be the case)

Barrera's never been too much of the engaging ill fight u in the middle of the ring type. Some people say he used to be a brawler and or a inside workman ala chavez but thats never been his style. Even when he beat kennedy Mckinney which is when he really bursted into the scene he was more of a laid back ill take my opening if I see it kind of guy.

It was a boring fight because Juarez didnt have the skills to really make Barrera dig deep. He is one of those fighters that needs someone really good to make a climactic fight. He definitely should not retire, he looked like his old well conditioned self last night.

I agree with this, i was telling someone watching the fight with me that Barerra is def. one of those fighters that can be provoked into slugging. The problem was Juarez never could goad him into it (or really tryed to).

Barrera still has it IMO.. He has atleast 2-3 more fights in him. Pacman is a monster.. If Barrera is going to fight Pac.. Prepare for 12 rounds of hell. Barrera could you the jab all night long but Pacman will find an opening and capitalize. All it takes is one punch.. But as much as i like Barrera.. I just don't think he could beat Pac.. But i will be rooting for Barrera. He could do it.. But need to accumalate alot of damage.. And i wouldn't want to see that. If Barrera plans on fight Pac.. Make it his last fight then retire.

Barrera looked conditioned though how the hell can you really tell how conditioned he really was? There was no engagements of any type. Barrera simple got on his bike and ran around while peppering with the jab. He put on a nearly Winky Wright display. I think this was for 2 reasons maybe. 1. He wants to save some surprises for Manny that he didn't want to display last night, and 2. He obviously just wanted to get by the fight so he's now in position for a mega payday with Manny if Manny wins vs Morales. I don't see at all how Barrera at 32 will keep up, stamina wise against Manny's nonstop relentless attack. Manny will pressure him effectively from the opening round till the last. I've always seen Barrera as a low stamina fighter believe it or not. When he goes to war, it's in bursts and as of late, he hasn't done that. His last war was against Morales 3 and he was dead tired by the 10th while showing signs of it as early as the 6-7th. He'll be destroyed on stamina against Manny, let alone the many punches coming at all angles.

Marquez laid the blueprints for defeating Pacquiao and Morales was clever enough to follow them in the first fight. All Barrera has to do is the same thing and he beats Pacquiao easily. Having said that, counterpunching Pacquiao requires great timing and the willingness to stand your ground. Barrera could have used Juarez for practise, however he failed to do so.

We should all face up to it, Barrera is shot. He is very talented but that does not change the fact that it is time for him to hang up his gloves.

Yeah you're spon on. Barrera wins convincingly without having to break sweat and he should retire? I don't think so. O.K. Jaurez clearly isn't in the same league as Barrera but i take nothing away from the performance of Barrera. He won the fight easily, simple as that. That said, i think Barrera could possibly retire after a return with Pacquiao, which (as i've stated on another thread) i do think will happen, despite the time it has taken.

That's definitely not a reluctance to engage, that was the game plan all along.

And Juarez performed poorly? Nah wrong again. MAB simply made him look bad. Juarez is one dimensional, who attacks and solely relies on his power. Juarez will always have problem with opponents who doesn't trade. He lost to Soto who employed the same strategy, now that's a fact.
