I dont know why GBP banend them but I do know that Barrera is sponsored by Everlast so he wears Everlast gloves. Personally I dont think gloves make a difference. Morales would have been KO'd in the second Pac fight regardless of the kind of gloves. But i do think it is stuoid they banned Reyes gloves.

Talk about being ashamed of your own country's gloves.

Hoya just proved himself a complete sissy on this one. Ashamed of using his own country's gloves.

      Talk about being sissy.

yeah, but why ban them from all GBP?

Might be to protect their fighters or they have a contract agreement with boxing gloves makers.

If Golden Boy doesn't want to use Reyes Gloves, that's fine with me. If he doesn't want to recommend Reyes Gloves, I ain' got no problem with that.BUT TO BAN THE PRODUCT OF YOUR OWN RACE FROM ALL YOUR PROMOTIONAL FIGHTS INCLUDING ITS USE BY ALL YOUR MEXICAN FIGHTERS IN YOUR STABLE.....THE RACE THAT SUPPORTED ALL YOUR FIGHTS FROM BEING AN AMATEUR TO ACHIEVING SUPERSTARDOM.....THE RACE THAT YOU SO PROUDLY FLAUNT IN EACH OF YOUR PREVIOUS FIGHTS TO GENERATE MORE INTEREST AND MORE BUYS....tsk, tsk, tsk, That's saying something!!!!!

Honestly, I don't know the reason of Oscar, but point is if he has problem with REYES Gloves he could have just entered in a contract with stipulations that his opponent may not use the gloves. But to say (unverified it may be) that he is banning the use of the said Gloves in his promotional outfits...Man talk about being NATIONALISTIC....

With regard to question of whether a conflict should arise, I guess there won't be any cause it can be made as part of the stipulations in the contract, and Manny may already demand such because he is already relegated to a status of a genuine PAY -PER- VIEW fighter since their first fight. He is no longer a nobody who promoters could push around and be subjected to disadvantageous positions by just flashing the money signs.Manny as well as BARRERA both need each other to come up with this megafight and Oscar knows better than to subject Manny to such non-sense stipulations based on what... his personal prejudices to his OWN RACE's PROUD PRODUCT??.....

                  3. Reyes gloves are Pac's favorites.

If GBP promotes Pac-MAB 2, will there by an issue?

If there will be, how shall that be resolved?

Honestly I don't GP can dictate anything to Pacquiao. Mab needs Pacquiao more than the other way around. If GBP will impose their gloves prefference on Pac this might be a factor why this fight won't happen at all.

I thought that was for non-championship fights only. And for championship fights the champion chooses the gloves?

Nopes dude, championship or non championship fight, a fighter can wear any brand of gloves as long as it is in the approve list.

Noticed that Guzman and Barrios were using different brands?
