We need to allow more clinching in boxing. And I'll tell you why!

Just admit it - don't take the cowards way out.

Look, I know that most boxing fans are tiny - some wouldn't even be heavyweights, and therefore it makes them feel more adeqaute if they believe that a tiny man can beat a big man. They think to themselves "I will not get beat up by the man sized men. Hooray! I can beat them down!" Of course they are clinically delusional, and every normal person would just laugh at them, but they NEED to hold on to it. They are just inadequate male speciman's...........sorry.

Again, I put it to you............why doesn't Floyd Mayweather fight at HW?

He is supposed to be the best fighter in the world (or there abouts), no?

In a real fight the bigger man does not necessarily win. Size can be a factor, and in boxing, where everyone is supposed to be skilled in fighting, we neutralize that factor by divided weights in increments of 5-8 pounds. but in a real fight, it is often the case that the difference in skill is much wider than is possible among trained fighters, so size differences can again be cancelled. Give me a 150 pounder who knows how to fight over a 200 pounder who doesn't, anyday. I bet Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio could kick your ass, even though it would be unfair to match them against James Toney or Wlad Klitschko

In boxing, you should be punished for your lack of size, not rewarded, else what message does this send out to the public?

By limiting fighters in this way, you make it less of a REAL FIGHT. Boxing is not a REAL FIGHT as it is, we don't need to make matters worse.

Let the big guys clinch away.
you havent seen any Ruiz fights have you, I'd rather beat off with a cheese shredder than watch that lame ass ****. I've seen thousands of fights in my time and after seeing 1 Ruiz fight I didnt think it could be true a fighter who wins by holding??How so I decided to watch him again and it was boring as the first one and he won then saw the a third fight of his and vowed never to watch the sport of clinching again. If they allowed more clinching every fight would be like a Ruiz fight and I would be forced to watch UFC........NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You might as well say all fights should be fought in a huge 40 foot ring, as this allows agile fighters to have the best chance of victory, or make them fight in a 3 x 3 foot square so infighters have a big edge. Allowing excessive clinching is no more fair than any of these alternatives I've described.

No, because REAL FIGHTS (fighting as we know it was derived from street fighting) do not put emphasis on using miles of land or stamina.

It comes down to who grapples who to the ground and breaks their neck.

LOL i bet this kid is one of those guyz who goes to the GYM in the morning and speands all the evening looking at his arms and body in the mirror! Then during the night he just dreams of him being a street fighter who started boxing and changed the way boxing is.

Not every fight is able to go to the ground, some fights are over within the first few seconds, with one punch...in highschool I saw a boxer (who came 2nd in the Golden Gloves), fight a wrestler, only to be disappointed because I blinked.

The wrestler came in low, the boxer threw an uppercut, night.

It's best for a fighter to be versatile, but sometimes it doesn't matter

You are a very ignorant person. ****s had that kind of a mentality, killing handicapped infants because they didn't deserve to live. I can't stand the way of think. I truly think you are an untalented, uneducated, unliked person who is physically bigger than average. So the only thing going for you is your size and emphasize on it too much. Your agrument is not only ignorant but also FALSE. If any of you have seen the first few UFC championships, then you know that Royce Gracy (or however you spell it) was i think the smallest guy in the tournament and he beat guys twice his size and became the champion the first 3 tournaments. You couldn't get any closer to streetfighting than the early UFC tournaments. Also if you look at the Strongest Man tournament its not always the biggest guy winning.
