We need to allow more clinching in boxing. And I'll tell you why!

It is extremely unfair to limit the bigger man's strength advantage by breaking these guys up too early. If you let the smaller man get away without having to deal with the bigger man's extra weight and strength, it gives him an unfair advantage. In boxing, you should be punished for your lack of size, not rewarded, else what message does this send out to the public?

By limiting fighters in this way, you make it less of a REAL FIGHT. Boxing is not a REAL FIGHT as it is, we don't need to make matters worse.

Let the big guys clinch away.

Let them headbutt all the time ... the man with the weaker head should not be rewarded.
Let them fight without gloves ... the man with the weaker skin and knuckles should not be rewarded.
Let the cornermen interfere ... the man with the weaker friends should not be rewarded.

Yep, there are a lot of flaws with this.

        Thanks for pointing them out.

This is one of the dumbest posts of all time. Not only is it insane to ask for more clinching, but your argument is almost embarassing...the lighter person should be punished? Boxing tries to strive towards no clinching or least amount possible, and thats how it should be.

            Silly post.

It would be dangerous to allow all of these things to happen, where as clinching is fine.

He's not proposing we introduce these things.

By using example, he is showing the weakness in your argument. "The smaller man should be punished". Sort it out.

Well, when boxing goes extinct because the public view it as too effeminate, you might just change your mind.

But in a real fight the smaller man is punished BY NATURE.

I'm trying to make boxing a more natural fight.
