We need to allow more clinching in boxing. And I'll tell you why!

I've not really watched much of it at all, in fact I've only seen clips.

I think that it is very good though.

      Wdf are you talking about?

The public are being turned off by the effeminate nature of boxing, but you are proposing to allow clinching?

The smaller man is punished in a real fight?

No -- the man who cant fight is the man who is punished in a real fight.

It is ****** to allow clinching. One it takes away the atmosphere of the fight, that is why John Ruiz is probably the most boring fighter in the heavyweight division probably besides Byrd.

You want to give the bigger man more advantages because of weight and height. Let's see, they have the height, weight and reach advantage so what more do they need. If they allowed this, it would just ruin boxing.

I hate clinching, and I would only think about using clinching if maybe you are going to get knocked down or something in that effect. But to have it for the bigger guys to get the advantage, has me come to the conclusion that they know if they went right at a smaller guy and have to use this, that they know they can't win.

Damn, I see you where serious about your point. Well boxing is boxing not wrestling. The reason I love the sport its for its excitement, art, and toe to toe action. Clinching does not fit in that mix.

Clinching is a very manly way of fighting, as it allows the man with the superior strength to prevail.

And yes, the snaller man is punished in real fights.

Do you see any straw weights winning even a portion of the heavyweight title?

            No?

Well why not? Surely they would earn more money in the HW division? Or are guys like Valuev better fighters?

Yes - because of that special talent they hold - size.

So because they have size because as you say is their "special talent" which is complete BS, that boxing needs to give them more of an advantage. You saying this makes it sound like to me that uou are saying that they heavyweight division should be filled of near 7'0 fighters and have the fighterss like tyson, toney and what not shouldn't be in the division while they would bring the most money unlike most of the champions we have right now holding those belts.

This isn't wrestling, and this isn't UFC and they don't do that much clinching in either.

Ok, in the future, would someone just remind me not to discuss boxing with Heavyweight Box, please.

                Thanks.

I see that I have schooled you kid.

Just admit it - don't take the cowards way out.

Look, I know that most boxing fans are tiny - some wouldn't even be heavyweights, and therefore it makes them feel more adeqaute if they believe that a tiny man can beat a big man. They think to themselves "I will not get beat up by the man sized men. Hooray! I can beat them down!" Of course they are clinically delusional, and every normal person would just laugh at them, but they NEED to hold on to it. They are just inadequate male speciman's...........sorry.

Again, I put it to you............why doesn't Floyd Mayweather fight at HW?

He is supposed to be the best fighter in the world (or there abouts), no?

Heavyweight Box, tell me one thing: if the taller man (who clinches and holds) is stronger for a fact, then why does he clinch instead of just knock his opponent out? If he was stronger, he would throw punches and hurt the other.
Holding is a sign of weakness! Period.

So heavyweight box i guess you are going to tell me that in a street fight, that Tyson would get his ass whopped by say Valuev just because he's 7'0 tall then.
