Spam because it's true? Name another contender who continued to foul out, get stopped early, and otherwise fail every time he stepped up to bat and continued to get title shots? After fouling out against Bowe twice and getting KO'ed by Lewis once he quit against Michael Grant, quit against Tyson the next year, took three years off and then fought a nobody and a journeyman and was awarded a shot at Byrd's title for no good reason whatsoever.

The guy did not deserve as many chances as he was given. In his last fight, which was seen as a do or die fight for him, he was stopped in the first round by Brewster when he completely folded.

Sadly, I STILL have a feeling that if he came back and knocked out some lowly journeyman, he would get a shot at one of the belts.

You're right, but it's Don King who seems to have this affection for him. I think Golota will always attract a little attention, and so King is always willing to sell a fight with him in it. Thise Bowe fights are great reminders, though, that for a moment he did look like a decent heavy, almost good enough to be champ. At the same time they are proof that no one should mention Bowe in the same breath as Lewis-Holyfield-Tyson

Lets put it this way, he fought for EVERY single version of the major belt (WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO) and still managed to lose each and every time.

Quick news flash for all the Golota fans: He is no longer scheduled to fight Kevin Mcbride in the fall.(I was actually hoping this fight would take place)

I read something a few weeks ago which said he had been arrested after a woman had claimed he sexually assaulted her. I can't remember where i read it but i'll try and find a link.

He was arrested 2-3 months ago on those charges. I don't think that he will return to the ring anytime soon.

Theat fight should have been stopped towards the end of the 5th round, Golota was landing massive shots and bowe wasn't responding. Isn't the ref that moron who was all over lewis when he fought tyson??

The ref worked overtime to protect Bowe, no doubt about that.

That 1996 version of Golota was incredible. Talent wise he had it all except an uppercut which he rarely ever if never threw. Problem with him was his unstable mindset. The guy was flat out whacky. To be a great fighter you need the mindset more than the talent. He self destructed against Lewis for two reasons: One- his corner were a bunch of idiots who did not know how to handle him properly and Two- he was ****** enough to allow some Dr. to shoot him up with a muscle relaxer prior to the fight and the moron Dr. missed the muscle tissue and shot up an artery. This was the beginning of the end for Golota. His credibility when out the door after he was KO'd that quickly by Lewis because many in the boxing community at the time did not fully respect Lewis because of his weak chin.

That's a fair assesment.
