WBC is likely to allow Maskaev have a voluntary defence...

    This is an unofficial rumour.

I have read this at another site (Russian-language). The rationale is that Toney was a mandatory contender, but the fight with Peter was not an elimination bout.

Duva said he plans to file a protest.

I hope Maskaev defends his title and then fights another belt-holder.

I hope Maskaev never fights again he can save me from watching horse **** boxing. But anyways Toney is still the best heavyweight in my opinion.I hate all the other heavyweights theres just very minimal skills there.

i doubt this is true since the WBC president issued a letter before the the fight to Maskaev directing him to fight the winner of Peter-Toney as his first defense.

I think everyone can agree that Toney would beat Maskaev.

Rahman beat Toney and Maskaev beat Rahman.

Toney is the best boxer P4P, but he is not the best HW boxer.

I can see that argument. But dont you think his skills would find him a way vs Maskaev? i dont think he hits as hard as Peter.

Here is what I say, Maskaev got a better chance against Toney then against Peter. On style's alone. But, I would give Toney an edge over Oleg.

I think Maskaev is very close to Rahman in terms of skill. I think Maskaev--Toney will be very much like Rahman--Toney.
