  • Best brit since 1980? ?

I think its close between Benn, Lewis and Joe C. . .i dont think Joe C is on Herol Bomber Graham's level but fact is his achieved more, Benn and Lewis achieved more than Joe but Joe has more talent than both. . . .

I think you'd have to say Lennox was the biggest name Stateside, but he wasn't a special talent like a 'Bomber' Graham, a Kirkland Laing, an early Nigel Benn or a young Naz, or Ricky Hatton at his best, or the Calzaghe that fought Lacy.

Infact, over here, Calzaghe was our #1 fighter among purists, post-Naz/Barrera: http://sport.guardian.co.uk/boxing/s...996634,00.html

          Lewis wasn't a pure Brit.
          Nigelito gets my vote.

And where's Eubank?? Also Alan Minter deserves atleast a place on a poll, although he wasn't in the class of Benn, Eubank, Graham or Watson he was THE middleweight champ in '80

Agreed, Lewis and Hamed if you are asking "best boxer".

Lewis would probably be in contention for best boxer, and best achievements also.

Depends what criteria you are marking these by?

Hamed was basically born with gloves on and it showed. Lewis is a lock for the Hall Of Fame. Herol Graham revolutionised a whole style and influenced a load of great fighters. Ricky Hatton made waves just by beating one man.

Based on ability, Eubank and Graham are tops for me. Hamed (young) and Hatton wouldn't be far behind. Then we're talking Calzaghe.

Lewis wasn't a Kirkland Laing or an early Nigel Benn. He was solid, by comparison.
