Obviously the heavyweight division is held to a higher standard, but when people say that there is no heavyweight champion while discounting the 4 that exist, cant the same be said for the other weight classes, the ones without unifying champions? The problem isnt the heavyweight division, because most weight classes dont have unifying champs. The real problem is the 4 sanctioning bodies.

.......... you know what he means. It's just the heavyweight division is supposed to produce, and it doesn't. It doesn't even matter the champions, other divisions dont have linear champs but they produce FIGHTS something the heavys can not do. The heavys these days are just a bunch of fat bastards who undertrain. Im taking too much from them but you get the point. How many physically fit heavys get mentioned these days? = /

The real problem is the heavies get paid more and deliver a lot less often then lower weight class fighters. Unifying is not necessary when there is a general concensus that the guy at the top would beat everyone and has provided substance by going on a rampage. The way some lower weight class fighters do.

Well, regular season baseball tells us a lot about which teams are the best, but I wouldnt want to miss out on the playoffs. I still think its the same crap in every division.

it means that you beat the man who beat the man who beat the man... and so on, but of course the chain breaks every once in a while. then you usually look at someone who beat enough ppl to be recognized as the man in a particular weight class and start again.

                example

baldomir-judah-spinks-mayorga-forrest-mosley-de la hoya (but de la hoya was considered lineal because trinidad went up in weight, and oscar had beaten everyone else)

the heavyweight division catches more flack than it should imo. but honestly, there must be something wrong with the heavyweight division, because it is not mainstream right now. when it's mainstream, that's when you know great things are happening in that division.
