        I agree, they should just cut down divsions, there are too many to care about. Everyone knows the bigger the weight the more interest in them. For real, who gives a **** about some pound for pound fighter who weighs 122 pounds..

          Everybody would know who the heavyweight champion is if we had one.
          the reason the regular, non boxing fan, may not know who the head guy is because of the lack of boxing coverage in today's world.


          30 or more years ago, boxing was covered much more than it is today. i only have to ask some of my family. my grandfather, for example, was a golden gloves champ more than 30 years ago. and he knows that boxing isn't covered as much as it used to be. in talking to a local boxing instructor, he even mentions how the last 15 years or so that nationally televised boxing has been on the decline. not to even mention various other things such as the don king "cancer of boxing" situation.
