America doesn't matter anymore in boxing. Most Americans could care less who wins and there are only a few fans left here. The market has switched to oversees where many fans are piling in to see their country get their own stamp on the game. There is nothing left in America. Not to put American fans down, because they are great fans, but there are just very few left.

Regardless of that thought, if they really care about the best fights, then why not the best and most dangersous fighters in the ring? Bottom line, I think Toney is not only a better fighter than Peter, but more marketable as well.
no doubt, i was at the fight LIVE with Vanes, and everyone there was a Toney fan, biggggg time.

Toney has that personality man, he gets on tv alot, looks all sharp, has made a name for himself, he could sell good tickets for sure for another 3 or 4 years as a proven attraction, Peters is a gamble, and no matter how good he fights, i just dont see him being a TV guy.

I just think the judges are seein things differently, i guess im takin the glass half full approach.
I was thinking the same way you are about 6 months ago. It all went downhill fast for me though. Just tired of it. Unless they come up with a syatem that shows the scores to the fans after each round then you can count me out. There is just too many loopholes for someone to get paid off right now.

          lol

Dont care how you put it, THE MONEY IS IN AMERICA, and ANY/EVERY up and coming boxer would die to get a title shot or big fight here in LA, Vegas, NY or other big cities.

My take on it all, they are KILLING the half-ass hope fighters of America(Rahman, Toney). And a NEW heavyweight is gonna emerge, dont know who, but the stage is set, and its time for a new Tyson, or Holyfield to step up into the spotlight and explode.

You're too bumed out. Boxing is great in the southwest - I can' speak for the rest of the Country. Many fans of boxing go to local boxing shows. Delahoya last ppv did over 800 hundred thousand buys, and those ppv buys were in America.

I agree completely man, Toney is a very witty guy, says alot of funny stuff. Peter is like the Russian guy in Rocky IV, very serious regardless of the truth in what he says lol
I can't see fans paying to see Peter unless he KO's bigtime lol

Watch how fast that changes and has changed under our very own eyes. How many friends do you have now that are casual fans? I bet not nearly as many as you did say 10-20 years ago. That is what this sport has become. Boxing is 1st rate to serious fans but not even on the radar to the casual fan. The casual fan doesn't even exist in America anymore. People with too much money has ruined that. Most Americans think boxing is fixed. Just ask them. And they're probably right. I used to hope that wasn't so, but it is.

oh no doubt i agree with you that boxing is goin in the wrong direction, that it has somewhat killed off the casual fan, and is now getting close to doin the same with the hardcore fan as well.

This crap has been happening too often, at least 1 out of 4 or 5 big cards this year.

Im just trying to understand the rationality of Toney/Peters, cuz i cant make myself believe that a few BIG GAMBLERS can buy off judges that easily.

If anything, the WBC is being bought out.
