he should still fight. u never quit, thats the cardinal rule in a sport like boxing. u put down those gloves, 5-10 years down the road, ur gonna regret it.

id like to see toney fight again, for one last hoorah. If he wins spectacularly, i would love to see him go for a title. unlikely, but it would be the feel good story of the year (the year that it happens at least)

I don't think Toney would end his career like that, I think he will fight again.

He sure could but the thing is he gets hurt to often. The thing with B-Hop was that he was always in shape and never had to fight off an injury before fights. That's why he stayed on top for so long. I have no doubt that Toney can fight for as long as he want's as far as his skills go but if he wants to fight that much longer he will have to stay in fighting shape no matter if he has a fight or not .

but he'll never be heavyweight champ. not at this point. not fighting twice a year (he didn't win a fight this year btw). he can't go for more than 2 more years. he's done.

ya know its sad, because i dont think toney should retire, he still shows that he has so much skill and can outbox any heavy out there now..but this loss is going to set him back. i agree that he can box until hes 40-42 because of his style, but he showed some age tonight, honestly, i hate admitting it because that MY *****, but he showed he can be hit. to his credit though he took the best shots peter could hit him with and kept doing his thing. but techincally this loss sends him to the back of the line

You may be right but the heavyweight pack heavier punchs. He got stunned a few times by Peters today.

While I'm still up in the air with the decision, because I did see close rounds, and thought it would have possibly gone to a draw, but thinking about it, and reading what people said and just thinking about the fight Toney probably should have gotten the win, especially with Peter getting the point deduction and it definitely should have been closer, but I really do think it was close. But let me get to the point at hand.

Toney even at 38 is a great heavyweight who I think will fight again, and hopefully get another shot at the belt. And I have a simple solution....

If Peter beats Oleg, I think Peter should give Toney the first crack at the belt. It was a great fight and I definitely want to see them fight again. Because Toney deserves that, and I think if Peter wants to really prove he definitely is worthy of that belt (if he wins it) give Toney a rematch with that belt on the line.
