I don't like James Toney, everybody knows that. I was saying Toney the Phoney for months, but that was plain old robbery.

I reall think both Peter and Toney should take some training tips from Maskaev, he is the same age as Toney but look at his shape.

man, its sad to see how this went down. 116-111 on 2 scorecards is suspect to me. i had it 115-113 toney, albeit not a super impressive performance. he got hit alot and he started to look more his age then he has in any previous fight. but i still feel he won the fight especially with the point deduction. im not sure what fight those 2 judges were watching to have peter ahead by such a wide margin. sad man

I think we should all convert to Wlad fans, if he wins its most likely a KO.

                Oh well he was robbed.

but keep in mind........those arm punches Toney through had no effect on Peter. I mean none.

And Peter did get Toney in trouble a couple of times...I actually thought was it a different reff the fight would be stopped with a TKO at one point.

But oh well...TOney got a gift against Rahman, now he got robbed of that against Peter.

It was a legit win for Peter. He was the aggressor all night and threw the harder punches that had more of an effect on Toney. Samuel did more damage to himself by keeping up a relatively high workrate than Toney ever did IMO. I think there was only one point in the whole fight where Toney hit Peter with a combination and he momentarily stopped coming forward.

Toney is as tough as they come and still has a few fights left in him but let's not take anything away from Peter's win tonight.

However Peter really needs to weigh a good 15 pounds less what he was tonight. The extra weight slows him down and takes the edge off of his power.

that's a good angle of view on the fight
