Jose Suliman- "the fine was Not appropiate by neveda state commision"

Last night, in spanish television they talked about the Toney fight along with the undercard fights. Soliman was their and was asked about the Castillo fine and suspension.

Soliman said, "a suspention was corret as a way to hand down a punishment, but a fine such as 250 thousand is Not justice. Here is a boxer who was fined 250 thousand dollars, but he was not paid, so how is he going to pay 250 thousand to the commision? This was not accepetable. Castillo is not in the money earning league as a Tyson, this is Castillo as man with a hard economic background and you are going to fine him 250 thousand when he didn't fight, this was not acceptable and was wrong. A susption was appropiate, but a fine when the fighter didn't fight is not justice."

And i aggree with Soliman. If Castillo had fought then fine him, but 250 grand is ludacriss. Everybody talks about getting a Boxing Committe to regulate boxing so it can be respected and just. Here is another example of the neveda commision over correcting the situation. Its not like a fighter takes home his whole purse he signed to get, he still pays off a lot of people in his camp and a 250 grand fine after paying everbody in his camp, the figher would go home with less then half of what he made - if even that.

If Teddy Atlas wants to be sincere in wanting a Boxing Committe to regulate all boxing to take the courupt and unfairness away from boxing then Atlas would take a stand and defend Castillo. But Atlas, doesn't care about the boxer either.

Sulaiman is Mexican, is he not? Of course he wants Castillo to get off without a big penalty. He's also picking Morales to beat Pacquiao. The nationalism of Mexico knows no limits.

If Deigo Corrales is half Mexican, YOU'D COMMITE SUICIDE!

Your hate for Mexican fighters is very well documentated, so your response is nothing new.

Not very often I agree with Suliaman; but 250 grand was a bit stout to say the least.

Correct me if I'm wrong; but didn't Mark Ratner go to the UFC? And, if so, wouldn't that mean that the NSAC would be trying to show they're just as "tough" without him?

If I'm dead wrong, just ignore that; but I thought I read that somewhere.

It should have been a fine to Top Rank and Fernando Beltran. Castillo has been trying to move up in weight for years but they keep making him stay at 135.

Even Corrales' trainer, Joe Goosen agrees that if anyone should have been fined and penalized it should have been Top rank and his handlers who have forced him repeatedly to stay at 135. A weight he has had trouble making for some time.

I'm just saying the Mexican fight fans on this board tend to rationalize more than fans of any other nationality. No Mexican fight fan will ever admit what Castillo did was wrong and cowardly, whereas I recognize say, Rid**** Bowe for throwing his belt in the trash instead of fighting Lewis as cowardly. If Bowe were Mexican, his fans would suggest it was a great thing to do.

I remember a few journalist saying they didn't have problems with Bowe throwing his belt in the trash i forget what was their reason. This was at the time of when Bowe did this, i myself still don't remember why he did that.

Forgot to add, it doesn't take a sceintist that the fine the Nevada Commision gave to Castillo is ridicules considering he didn't fight and 250 grand is a huge amount of money to take from a fighter who doesn't take home his whole fight purse.
