Hey, why wasn't I consulted on this? LOL, Reeno said the same thing I said in my article about Toney-Peter being like Byrd-Tua
Oh well, better late than never:
This is one of those fights were my mind is saying to go with the proven vet, yet my heart won't allow me to ignore the hunger and power of the younger Samuel Peter. Peter is coming to win and he knows one shot can get him there. My one concern is that he hasn't properly conditioned himself for his fight. In Peter's best performance against Jeremy Williams, Peter weighed a swelter 226. For tonight's fight, Peter weighs in at a swollen 257, 31 pounds heavier than he was 2 years ago. Not the way to prepare against the slickest guy in the division.
Toney can fight decent when he's tired, whereas Peter falls apart and generally shuts down his engines when he's fatigued. Toney is the quicker, more experienced vet. I expect Toney to take a close, but decisive points victory over Sam Peter, then find a way to blow it against Maskaev.
