toney is hard to hit flush/clean... but he's not too hard to hit(arms, body)... i think this will be a close fight goin to a decision... i cant see one fighter dominating the other, unless peter scores a KO...
The vast majority of those 77 pfights were against light-heavyweights or smaller. Do you really think Toney has fought anyone nearly as hard hitting as Peter?
I have always been a Toney fan and would have loved to just jump in and join those who harp on his being a "throwback" and how his style will give Peter a nightmare. But some things have me thinking:
1. Peter has always been known for his thunderous right, so Jeremy Williams was looking out for it. Then, in the second round a left landed...!
2. Toney's last performance (against Rahman) when he officially tipped the scales at 237-- just 4 pounds more than he weighed at the official scales for the Peter and the John Ruiz fights--was not exactly one I can rave about in spite of my being an avid fan.
3. Against Klitchko, Peter landed a mere 100 hundred punches, but Wlad is 6'6 with a reach of 81" while James is 5'9 with a 76"-reach. Peter has about the same reach as Toney but is taller by 4 inches.
I hope I can have some of James' confidence.
