Toney's the one who's in shape? did you see his midsection? There's a huge dunlaping part that overshadows his trunks not to mention he has man taters.
His natural weight is at 175 tops.
Toney was heavier than that and just as soft looking when he fought Guinn and he still threw 1000 punches.
Point is Toney can look like that and still maintain a very high activity level.
This is the Heaviest Peter's ever weighed. If he can score an early KO, good for him.
If not, he's the one who should have the big question mark under conditioning in the later half of the fight.

i love how people act like Toney having a gut is a new thing at this point in his career, or that it makes a difference in his fight.. it has zero to do with how he'll do endurance wise in this fight, it's a guarentee that James will be there all 12 rounds, can't say the same necessarily for Peter

I've never even considered Peter knocking Toney out. There's just no way. Peter is not this home-run hitter people have made him out to be. He throws wide looping punches that can only hurt if they catch you at odd angles or have no chin anyway. Toney doesn't get hit with punches, period (when he's in shape). And if he does get hit, it's not like anybody can hurt him. I'd give Wladimir Klitschko a better chance of hurting him than Sam Peter.

Here's the thing.
In that BS interview with Toney after the fight with Rahman, he was complaining about his kidneys and how Rahman had "tore him up" with illegal punches.
Toney's midsection is not toned, and that's a big target. Not to mention Peter has a tendency to throw illegal type punches that can immobilize his opponents quickly.
The only time I've ever seen Toney hurt, wasn't when he was knocked down, but when he grimaced after Jirov landed a body shot late in their fight. It was the only time I've seen James Toney even acknowledge a punch and he took a couple of seconds to catch his breath.
Toney will be put through some punishment in this fight.

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoyou never heard of fighters being stopped on exhaustion? happens more than you'd think. Peter is going to have a hard time going 12 rounds in weighing that much. if Byrd can nearly stop McCline, then Toney could stop Peter. all it takes is being too tired to throw back, whether Toney's hurting him or not, no referee or doctor or corner is going to let you get punched at will

I was implying that Toney will get hit. When was the last time Toney was hit by anyone that hit anywhere near as hard?
Please don't give me the Rahman thing.
