That's true, that did extend his career by about 18 months.

Even so, it hasn't taken the direction it should have, has it? The most excitement in a Harrison fight was that riot Herbie Hide was involved in ringside. (points if you've got that and up it to YouTube).

And then the fight with that American guy he lost to, he had actually had to BEG his people to work his corner for that fight! So mentally he wasn't exactly very enthusiastic..
exactly. he hardley had thell torrence working with him. as he was working for the most part with Hasim Rahman.

Confidence was a major issue. And he only just started talking to his mother. He hasnt spoken to her for 6 years +, so maybe loosing wasnt so bad, as he gained emotionally.

How do you rate his talent, Juice?

I think the potential is definitely there, even though he's unlikely ever to be a power puncher, which isn't really the point...

Yeah, the Williams fight was the first time he had to 'fight' since his opening fight of the Olympics against the Russian Levin. He showed heart against Levin.

I mean even my mum watched the fight against the bum Mike Middleton and as we were eating she started screaming. She said to me hes like Frank Bruno (not that she knows much about boxing, just names) i was excited hope'ing Audley would do well.

do u realise at one point audley was calling out shanon Briggs, calvin brock and sam peter.

he was motivated after he beat davis and wiggins.

I've been watching Audley over the years (first saw him at the '93 ABA's when he was raw material, Julius Francis giving him his first defeat), seen him develop over the years and always saw him at his best when he was slim and trim, like 230-249. He looked brilliant in '98, weighing about 230. But then in '99, he was 250+ and very dissappointing, a shadow of his '98 form. For the Olympics he trimmed back down to 235-240.

He has the best left uppercut in the heavyweight division, infact his left uppercut might even be the best punch in that division. His right jab has never been great (still paws with it too much), but he times those left crosses well, and reminds me of Rid**** Bowe in that he can fight on the inside as well as he can on the outside (if not better) - which is a rariety for such a big guy. He's always had a lot of dexterity on the inside for a 6'6" guy, but often didn't and doesn't open up enough, simply doesn't let his hands go enough. Maybe he IS abit of a *****, I don't know.

The potential is still there now that he has sorted himself out..

My only worry is that he is too old now, quite simply.
