you know what is hilarious? UFC is the only MMA people in the States even know about......and all the dumbasses assume "Matt Hughes" or "Tim Sylvia" or "Chuck Lidell" are the "baddest" of the "baddest" MMA fighters around.

Pride is where it's at......and UFC is a joke. It's a group of cagefighters without any formal MMA training trying to be tough guys. Pride fighters are the best in the world.

Oh and "PPV Numbers" and "TV ratings ala Spike" aren't representative of the people who special order Pride events on satellite and purchase Pride gear and DVD's.

Those are usually different people....Like kids and adults.

The press, and MMA fans love to gloat on the recent success of the MMA world, Wether its PIDE or the organization responsible for MMA's explosion UFC. (call them what you will, the talent in most of the pride fighters is no better)
But one fact remains the same Boxing has been around for as long as this country. And if it does get "overshadowed" by MMA, so be it. The sweet science will remain the far more sophisticated sport. Most have to realize this put an immobile mma guy in the Boxing ring with even a mediocre boxer he gets ko'd easily, but a boxer in the octagon he still fairs pretty well.

The only reason it's popular because majority of the fighters are white. And this is coming from a white guy. Do you see the UFC fans. Bunch of frat boy type loosers. And thats the only reason they watch it "UFC ROCKS DUUUUDE!!!".....

Boxing has no white america in it. What is it? Latinos, Euros and African Americans, Africans.

Boxing was on the downward spiral of its time. But I believe in a few years, when new promoters get in the business such as DLH, great fights are going to be made, the best fighting the best. The Golden Boy Promotions fight card coming up is the best I've seen in about five years. That will draw some attention to boxing, then Mayweather vs. Baldomir might attract some, then next year when DLH has his last fight, that will attract some. I think boxing was already on the downside of its time, but its blowing back up again and I believe in maybe one to two years that it will be very popular again, completely overshadowing the f a g of a sport UFC or PFC or whatever.
