I think boxing is harder. You have to use your hands and arms. You have to worry about getting knocked out. In MMA, men slap and kick each other. I think those are ***** moves to slap and kick another man. In MMA you lose by having another man sit on top of you and wrap his legs around you and pull your arm. That **** seems gay to me. In boxing you fight like a man, with your arms and fists. You knock the **** out of your opponent for 12 rounds or knock him out in less. What do you guys think?

both are very hard sports, all the fighters are great athletes and ****in amazin for doin it,but i would say boxin is more dangerous in terms of punchin power definately, mma fighters learn all different techniques and boxers jus train ther hands 2 make them deadly, but, mma fighters are all very good n they have 2 learn all different fighting styles 2 keep up with theyre opponents

more training involved in being a boxing. in MMA u need to know how to box, but not even close to as deep as u must in boxing. but u do need to know more... i still think its harder to box, as anyone can fight in the MMA with some street-fight experience under their belt.

MMA is probably more dangerous, as they hardly wear gloves and protection.

i love boxing and i dont really like MMA that much.

        boxing is far more dangerous.

In MMA you can at least grab and hold an arm or leg and prevent from being hit. Fights are also stopped much quicker in MMA.

but yah the wrestling in tight speedos and rolling around in the sixty nine position does seem kind of fruity at times. You just have to know what your watching. It may look ****** but Jiu Jitsu is a dangerous art form.

IMO, MMA is more dangerous due to fact that the gloves are much lighter, the fighters feet are not padded, and when a fighter gets knocked down its perfectly legal for his opponent to punch and kick him when he's down.

Boxing is more dangerous than MMA. Just to make my explanation shorter and clearer, have you ever heard or seen any MMA fighter suffered a brain damaged? Well that is because in boxing the powerful repeatead blows on the head doesn't immediately show physical effects because of the gloves, unlike in MMA where it justifies immediate stoppage.

As to which is harder, it should definitely go with MMA. It is a combination of different combat sports, so fighters should be able to learn all these combat sports in order to compete.

Which is better? It depends on the individual's prefference.

I'm sure that many MMA fighters have sustained brain damage but due to lack of exposure compared to boxing, and because boxing is more widespread than MMA, you don't hear of brain injuries as much. I'm sure in the years to come as the UFC, Pride, and other MMA organizations gain more popularity, there will be cases of fighters sustaining brain injuries.

As for the damage itself, MMA punches have to be harder just because the fact that the gloves are smaller. Also, MMA fighters due sustain alot of a repeated blows to the head like boxing during some of the matches. I've watched UFC bouts where the fighters have received alot of punishment more brutal than your average boxing match.

Lastly, how can a sport where it is legal to hit your opponent when he's been knocked down be safer?

Your asking three questions at once. Dangerous, harder, and better are not nearly the same thing. Jumping off a cliff is more dangerous than both but it definately isn't harder or better.
