Perhpas, but the fact that he was stopped by Rahman and McCall while BHOP was undefeated for so long makes it a wash.
Lewis's resume doesnt compare to the greats.
first of all, he lost to hagler (robbed) and was being beaten up by hearns before the fight was unfairly stopped. (woulda prolly been stopped later on, but u gotta give a fighter a chance, ya know?)
and then he lost to hearns the second time. HE even admits that, he was given a gift draw
ANd he lost to duran once, but i guess thats because he chose to trade instead of act smart
and u forgot dave green, which was easily leonards greatest KO victory.
and floyd mayweather, who he knocked out in 9 i think.
and those are some great wins, but they dont compare to ali or robinsonIMO.
Hagler is my favorite fighter of all time, but I thought Leonard won the fight.
He stopped Hearns the first time and he almost stopped Hearns in the last minute of the second fight.
He stopped Benitiz a guy that Duran and Hearns didn't stop.
I didn't mention Mayweather and the others because those fighters were not all time greats like the 4 I mentioned.
Leonard has beaten more P4P greats then anyone else, Benitiz is considered by many to be the greatest Puerto Rican boxer of all time, Hagler is considered the greatest middleweight of all time and Duran and Hearns are considered by many to be in the top P4P list of all time.
muhammad ali, no doubt is number 1. marvin hagler, sugar ray robinson, sugar ray leonard (groan), maybe larry holmes, henry armstrong, harry greb, carlos monzon, joe louis i guess.
