  • What makes a fighter great?

What in your opinion would u consider to make a fighter great?
Is it being a champion for a long time?

    Or beating great opponents.

If a fighter loses badly to a huge underdog, than avenges that loss in style, has their status elavated to great?
Or has their status been forever tainted by the loss?

beating great opponents, beating up club fighters and bums for 20 years doesn't make someone great, just careful

all about achievments. win a title in a spectacular fashion. have a thrilling rivalry with a fighter. give great fights. you know, do something that stands out from every other fighter or stands in the era or in history.

I think the four things that make a fighter great would have to be

          1. Actually fighting, being a warrior and having a war with the biggest baddest guy out there.

          2. Dedication, hardwork, training hard.

          3. Being fearless and having a good sportsmanship.

          4. And not being afraid to lose by fighting the best at your best.

bernard hopkins is considered by many to be the greatest fighter since sugar ray leonard, and for a decade he defended his title against no-names. except for trinidad and dlh.

a champion gets up when he cant.

a champion pulls out a victory in the pits of defeat.

a champion shows the same intensity in the first and last rounds.

a champion can lose, but refuses not to

for me its - the ability to stay at top for a long enough time.
                    - the balls to get back up and fight on after a big KD
                    - the attitude to work hard enough and not be an ass
                    - the endurance and heart to pull victories outa the worst situation
