Why does everyone hate James Toney?

uhhh is it just me or shouldnt haseem rahman ....john ruiz ...evander holyfield and guinn all be being slandered and punished for them not having ko power to put away a fat ass blown up middleweight? is this a double standered or what ? ... these natural heavyweights unable to ko a fat ass old former middle weight...and yet all the hate is placed directly on toneys shoulders as if to say HE was the heavyweight

hes funny and is a proven great fighter. one of the best fighters of this era.

you have to realise some of him is just an act.

im rooting for him to unify. and his willingness to "**** some ****in russian around."

I don't hate him and have always liked him.I find him very funny most of the time although he has seemed to lately become just slightly amusing........I don't like him as a HW.He can't KO anyone and would not be a great HW Champion that we need if he did win a title.

Because he isn't that good.

Never been a dominant champ in any division.

His prime was 10 yrs ago.....

He hasnt done much at HW except talk **** Mayorga style and not back it up Mayorga style

He's fat & old

His routine is boring and tired

Yup, It is mostly a show.

Toney is a very nice and humble guy if you meet him.

There isnt one guy he isnt cool with when he comes into WildCard, but when he gets in the ring, he is one mean ahole.

The bottom line is that James Toney is one of the greatest fighters of his generation, and in the ring a throwback to everything that's slick and oldschool about boxing.

Too many people hate on him based on their dissatisfaction with what he's acheived at Heavy vs what they'd expect.

The fact reamins that as a guy who started and had his career fights at Middleweight and Supper Middle, we're now seeing a Hall of Fame fighter in the twilight of his career competing at Heavyweight.

I can't imagine back in the 50's people were gryping about how fat Archie Moore looked.

Anyone who doesn't respect and or isn't able to apreciate what Toney's able to do in the ring isn't a real boxing fan.

I was just watching Toney/Holyfield on Showtime In-Demand (check it out, its on there)

Toney is just top class, he schools Holyfield who doesn't know what hit him.

Oh and dont miss Toney's interview at the end lollll, he is just hillarious man.
