Why does everyone hate James Toney?

Actually, no, no he doesn't. Did he knock Rahman out? I, and I hate Toney, even thought he'd be able to at least hurt or knock Rahman down but he failed to do even that. He lost a decision and lucked out and got the draw. I hardly call that "backing up" your trash talk. He failed to deliver what he promised, and he'll fail again when he fights Peter.

Like when he said he'd beat Rahman He hasn't backed **** since becoming a HW. He's got the skills to easily beat guys like Rahman but doesn't b/c of his lack of focus during training. I don't like Peter but I hope he knocks him the **** out.

yall wanna know why hes hated? ....you got a guy who was a 300 pound highschool kid he wasnt even suposed to be a boxer let alone a world champion times over... you got a kid who came from a broken home i belive ...that came up shed his weight till he came in at 160 and slowly started winning ....till he became a champ and somebody...then people HAD to respect him but once he got older and gained the weight agian ...people said oh its just james hes a fat ass but what people didnt expect was james to keep going ...move up to cruiserweight ..take that title ...then move up to heavyweight and actually become a force
james toney in a sence IS that 300 pound short fat ass who sits around eating chips and cheese downloading **** cussin everyone out on boxing sites...that IS james toney except one thing ..james wont accsept it and actually goes out and does something about it ...its james ****in toney guys 5 ft 9 heavyweight hes done more now then any one ever said he could do hes got every right to be hated...anybody who goes out and walks the line over and over and over only to be successful under the circimstances that toney has got is just amazing and is expected to be hated ....jealosy is all i can think of

James is an extremely gifted fighter and can be a faithfull friend, but thats where my compliments end. He really changed after he won that first title. He accomplished something extraordinary and continued to pull some tricks from his hat throughout his career. But that can not excuse some of the things that pour from his mouth.

James will make the hall one day, I am proud to have trained with and exchanged punches with him. But in the history books Im not so certain how he will treated. Yes he was/is a gifted fighter, but man he can just say the wrong things.

He didn't back it up in the rahman fight. He could have easily beat rahman but instead he was way way out of shape. Many ppl thought toney lost that fight to rahman the same rahman that lost to maskeav. Toney talks about he got knockout power lol what knockout power? when was the last time toney stop a fighter in the heavyweight? since a faded holyfield? lol he couldn't even stop booker for crying out loud.

toney has stated that he was very sick for the rahman fight and had to have fluids IV'd into him or something of that sort.
