I didn't know that. I think as long as the trash talk don't go too far like involving somebody's family or just about anything Tyson said, is acceptable.

Lyakovich carries himself as a American Boxer by the way he talks and fights. His style is Americanized and not what you would expect from a Eastern European boxer. Possibly because he was trained by Americans.

That really comes from background. In Eastern Europe boxing is a sport/busines thing more then showbusiness/sport that it is in America. The fighter is considered to have class when he is well spoken and a gentleman outside the ring and fierce warrior inside.
There, just like here, great athletes are role models for many people, and it is considered a great feat when they are good role models.

Style of fighting really, does not have anything to do with style of behaving outside the ring. Well, its really a matter of how he was brought up. Or maybe he thinks that trash talking will make him more money. But he is no Ali in that department either. And whats more important is trash talking knowing that the fight cant be made and pretty much talkng smack from a safe distance is even worse.

in my mind there is a fine line that goes with talking ****

there is nothing wrong with building yourself up, making guarantees even goading your opponent a little bit

but personal assaults about race, family, nationality or sexual orientation are classless.

My opinion on trash talking is that it is ok for a fighter to state that he is a better man and will win, but it is not ok for him to say things like "Go back to Africa" or make false statements degrading other fighters. When you make a prefight statement, you should talk about yourself not the other guy.

sergei, shut the **** up. just cuz u beat lamon brewster (a man who put you on ur knee with one eye) doesnt mean you get to decide who should fight who. lets see you defend ur title first so you can prove that belt really belongs to you.

personally, i do not approve of wlad fighting either briggs or brock and i would certainly welcome a wlad/lyko match. but sergei needs to shut the **** up and realize he is not "the man" in the HW division.
