Anyone else hate Mora with a passion?

Before the contender on one of my local channels -I didn't know at the time who he was- but their was Sergio Mora, the Latin Snake. Doing his think, fighting and showboating and getting pissed off at his opponet. And this was before the contender. Even then i can tell he didn't have power but he was exciting and had balls to do the **** he does, looks easy but inside the ring its a lot more dangerous. So Mora the fighter didn't change and I doubt he changed who he is. He's just a ****y fighter, always has been, and he makes exciting fights. Many fighters make a run for the title of their ****yness, many became or become great because of their ****ynewss and never quiet, im better then you attitude. Boxing is a sport where its not good to be humble in the ring.

I have followed Sergio since he was on the Contender. I really liked him in that competition and thought he was the best fighter on there. He has skills and he is smart. But duribg the finale fight against Peter Manfredo Mora crossed a line that no athlete should cross. He cussed out Peter's Dad ( who was working in his corner) and yelled obsceneties at Manfredo's wife ( who was holding his little girl at the time) and then proceeded to "show her" how he could whup her husband's ass. That's when IMO his showboating went beyond being a ****y, passionate fighter to just being a disrespectful *******. I admit he has skills and he is good for boxing because look at all the hype and discussion his one fight last night generated. But I CAN'T WAIT for him to step up against a real challenge and just get knocked clean out. Preferably when he is in the middle of one of his chest thumping, showbaoting tirades.

Like I said earlier on this thread, I don't think Mora did enough last night to warrant showboating. I liked how he went to body and threw nice uppercuts when his opponent tried to tie him up but, I thought that if he pressed a bit more and let his hands go, he could've got the knockout win.

Having said all that, Mora doesn't impress me much and I will not go outa my way to watch him fight again unless its against Jermain Taylor.

he's found his place in boxing, he's the Contender. Mora is fun to watch, he likes pleasing the crowd, he's made for tv...still, i'd rather watch his buddy gonzalez fight, it seems like it means more to gonzalez to get the win...i think, if i was chick i'd like Mora

I agree that this is almost inexcusable. However, my question is this - was Sergio provoked? Did his dad say something untrue, unfair, overly biased, and the same with Manfredo's wife? Opening up a taunt fest and swearing is classless and inexcusable. Responding to being taunted is equally as classless, but can sometimes be excused depending on what was said in the first place. Not defending Mora (yet), because I don't know. Just curious as to what started that?

Call me a hater... I don't care. I despise Mora. The Contender Finale last year did it. He wasn't provoked, taunted, or anything. He's just a piece of trash. He was bragging through the whole show about how smart he was, because he had read like 8 books. WOW... anyway, he got a gift in the Manfredo rematch, and he knows it, and Archek had dodged 2 or 3 consecutive punches when Sergio scored that,"TKO after tasting canvas". That was a horrible stoppage... even worse than the Gomez TKO last night. I like Alfonzo, though, and he was pitching a shutout, anyway. Mora's a trash-talker with little power, and he hasn't fought anybody of merit other than Ishe Smith (5 rounds), and Manfredo twice (the second of which should have been the first blemish on his record). He was supposed to go 12 last night, but his camp called and had it changed, since he's never gone more than 8. He's an excellent fighter, don't get me wrong. I just can't stand his mouth. Trash talk makes sports great in a lot of cases, but I've yet to hear Mora say anything funny at all. He just cusses, hits after the bell, after breaks, and showboats. He has 4 KO's in over 20 fights, and one of those was the BS stoppage, so I don't think his showboating is amusing. He fights dirty, which usually doesn't bother me too bad, but the blatant cheap shots after the bell and after the ref calls for a break are way too much. That shows that he's trying to land a cheap one to compensate for his lack of power. The guy he fought last night was a former kickboxing champion, and as dirty as Mora fought, I wanted Regan to just take the DQ, and lay him out with a kick. Jermain Taylor beat Mora in the amateurs (Olympic Trials), and since then has beaten Hopkins twice and fought Winky to a draw, and that's just since he got his first shot. That's three more 12 round fights than Mora's had... ever. Mora wants no part of Taylor, Abraham, Miranda, Wright... at least I hope he doesn't, because he'd get destroyed... actually, I hope he does. He's got no class, and I don't have any love for him. Do I hate him? Well, I don't "hate" anyone, but he's about as close as it gets. Plus he's always talking about how he would've gotten to this point without The Contender, and always acts like he doesn't want to be remembered as "the Contender guy", and all that garbage; when in fact, he wouldn't have made a million bucks or have fought on ESPN if it weren't for the show. Sorry to rant, but I can't stand the guy, and I'd love to see him thrown in against "Bad Intentions", as the easier opponent in Little Rock after fighting three 12 rounders with top P4P guys. Taylor would beat quite a bit of that ****iness out of him.
