It doesn't matter if you think Judah and Spinks were mediocre or not. There have been mediocre champs before; the point is they were champs. The only way to be the man is to beat the man and Carlos Baldomir, mediocre or not, IS the man.

and the majority of them didnt even like or care about Margarito until all this Floyd **** happened. They just hated Floyd so much and it was finally like God sent Margarito down to step up to Floyd.

Everyone hated Floyd but they knew that couldnt anyone beat him even if they wanted him to lose. If Floyd wouldve called out Margarito and made a fight then it wouldnt even be a big deal. People would be talking about it as a regular average fight that Floyd would be heavily favored in. Most of them wouldve actually said that Floyd is again hand picking a nobody who hasnt beaten anyone and only has a vacant belt and again another guy coming off a loss.

That fight wouldve got no hype at all but Floyd didnt do that. Margarito came to Floyd and Floyd turned it down. All the Floyd haters jumped up and said "YES, this is our hero, someone who will stand up to Floyd". Knowning that Floyd wouldnt take the fight then they can say anything they want about him being scared & a fraud who knows that Margarito will kill him when the truth is that they wouldve never killed or made a big deal about this fight if Floyd had called out Margarito from the jump.

OK, he's the man, no arguement there.... but there also is no arguement that he's a big underdog to floyd, just like everyone floyd has faced the last 3 years...

He is the linear champion so no. He definately will be better opposition than Gatti was. But, I have to say, Baldomir's style plays right into Floyd's hand...

Who would be favored against Floyd at this stage, though...really?

I'll tell you the honest truth, if Floyd gets by Baldomir, no..he won't get his respect; but the truth is coming...and I don't think it's going to be Margarito. I honestly think it could be this Paul Williams kid.

'Course, I'm picking Baldomir by an upset...but admittedly, it's just a hunch.

No argument here with that statement; but, as I said in my last post...Paul Williams could be the truth syrum. We'll see. He's already called out Margarito.

i'm not asking him to fight someone where he's the underdog, just someone that isnt a HUGE underdog to him... in the past 3 years, he could have faced one guy that had a decent chance of beating him, but instead he fought a bunch of guys that had NO chance...

Oh, I agree the criticism is waranted; but I don't know how much is all his fault. Personally, I would have liked to have seen him square off against Ricky Hatton at 140. I was really disappointed that fight never came off; but I've heard it was as much Ricky's doing as Floyd's. Who knows for sure?

Of course it's a good match for Floyd, Baldomir is the MAN at 147, and he's a very beatable opponent. I was hoping that Cotto could get that fight...
