well, i have to finally give him his props, perfectly executed the new style to a TEE. i will rewatch this fight a thousand times now.
Completely agree, obviously it took a handful of fights to really get going under a new trainer but he looked awful with this style against Tommasone, Sanchez etc. He looked amazing tonight, it was finally a perfect blend of his old style and what Reynoso was trying to implement. Oscar is a scary MF'er now, the top dog at 130!

I was close. Valdez fought a masterful fight. Great, great footwork. Excellent head movement and evasiveness. And that jab!

Early candidate for knockout of the decade. Should be KOTY easily.

Great performance from Valdez. Showed a lot of skills and discipline in this fight. Like most, I thought berchelt was gonna get the win. He himself showed a ton of heart as he kept coming forward. But this was Oscar's night. I'm glad berchelt was okay in the end, that was brutal.

Hopefully this means we get Valdez-Stevenson next which should be another great matchup.

He's also plowed over basically everyone else he's fought. He'll be a better version of himself at 135 at this point. Is it enough to beat the top guys at 130? IDK, but it's too tough for him to make 130 now. He weighed 147 tonight for god's sake

I picked Berchelt but have to give full credit to Valdez.

The jab was on, his movement was sharp, he was power punching, his stamina didn't fade.

He put a masterclass on him.
