They should've just agreed on 147 from the get go so that both can train accordingly. It makes sense for Broner not to try to boil down to 140 on his first fight back, but this is a real dirty tactic by Broner's team, they only cut to 147, tell the opponent to cut to 140 then wait until he's cut down to 140 and then change the limit. Yea Santiago can water up and carb up to 147 in a day, but the damage of boiling down and not building mass has already been done.

I've seen Broner train a week ago and even though he looks like he lost a lot of weight, he looked weak and gassed as hell. Let's see if he shows up to fight.

Definitely the most fraudulent four division champion in boxing history. Look at the other names on this list. Broner is a disgrace to all of them:
        Tommy Hearns
        Sugar Ray Leonard
        Roberto Duran
        Pernell Whitaker
        Oscar De La Hoya
        Leo Gamez
        Roy Jones Jr
        Floyd Mayweather Jr
        Manny Pacquiao
        Erik Morales
        Jorge Arce
        Juan Manuel Marquez
        Nonito Donaire
        Miguel Cotto
        Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez
        Mikey Garcia
        Donnie Nietes
        Kazuto Ioka
        Leo Santa Cruz
        Saul "Canelo" Alvarez

20 of the greatest fighters of my lifetime... and Adrien Broner.
His career pretty much ended after his loss to Mikey Garcia. He managed to get a couple of money grabs after that but he should've retired right then and there. Obviously he made some really bad choices on the outside and now he's trying get a couple more money grabs. That's what the old timers would call "fighting for the wrong reasons " and it usually ends badly, really badly

I don't even know why Broner agreed to 140. He's obviously after money why go into a division that's just south of welter, you know a big money division?

All the youngsters at 135 and 140 now can fight him in good money fights like Ryan Garcia, Haney, maybe even Gervonta Davis. Nobody would be interested in seeing him against Spence or Crawford or even Thurman since it's a foregone conclusion that he's going to get badly hurt.

I don't think there's a sure thing for Broner at this point. If I didn't live in NYC and had legalized online sports betting, I would drop a little on Santiago.

Broner back at welter where he's not so affective doesn't look great. Given he's been out of shape for so long he may still be able to boil down with more time but it seems like a smash and grab at this point just trying to cash out with what is left of his name. I hope I'm wrong.

Is that not screwing his opponent over? I welcomed a Broner come back but the shady crap has turned straight back up with it. I wouldn't be surprised if the plan all along was to change the weight limit last minute. I bet Broner and his team knew and the other team didn't and were on the way to professionally making 140.
