basically to me the first guy that owns 2 of the belts is the new linear champion, the first since Lennox Lewis OVER THREE YEARS AGO!!!!

Mad props to Maskaev to take on Wlad. He knows this will be his last fight, unless he wins by some miracle, which I doubt. Let's do it in December, that should give Maskaev plenty of time to heal, unless his injuries are more serious than he says they are.
As for Liakhovich, I somewhat lost respect for him after he signed that ****** letter written by King.

Negotiations are still ongoing, and Shelly Finkel, advisor for Team Klitschko, is pressing for an answer. [details]

        That would be super.

I think Oleg will have 30% chance to win this fight. Oleg is very strong and is a very good boxer who never lost a fight on a score card. Oleg's debut fight was against a 21-0 guy (Miroshnichenko) whom he knocked out and Oleg knocked out many other good people. He holds a serious chance to pull this off.

but I think it should be delayed a month or 2. the body takes longer to recover as you age and I think its unfair to make maskeav fight on such short notice. as much as I want unification I think wlad should take the briggs fight in nov and then take on maskeav 3 months after that. he's much younger than maskeav so he should be able to fight on shorter rest

but if you look back at his kirk johnson,,,lance whitaker and corey sanders disasters its hard to imagine him being able to hang in long with wlad unless those fights were just at a bad point in his career? he did take flush shots from rahman but I never felt rahman was a big puncher and has always been overrated in that regard since the lewis fluke win

I guess the fight with Wlad will really tell... Oleg has a TKO win over Vitaliy in the amateurs, and although this by no means implies he will have Wlad's number, it tells us that Oleg is a legit threat to any boxer.

Regarding previous Oleg's losses, his defense used to be his chin, and you can not expect to make it far in HWs, if your defense is just that. Oleg's defense seems much better nowdays, so let's see.

Of course, Wlad is a clear favorite... but, hey, Oleg is a good guy, and I just hope Wlad and Oleg give us a great boxing match that is worth remembering.

yea,,thats a fight where Im not sure who to root for. I'd rather wlad win in that he's still young and can give us a lot more good fights down the road. and I like maskeav because he's also not a trash talker and always comes in shape and gives it his all even at 37. hopefully neither guys gets embarassed in this fight
