At least he's honest about it.That corny old crap is from many years ago, when Arum was having a few drinks with some reporters. He indiscreetely told them a few facts, but "strictly off the record".. This was promised,. The next day, one of the same reporters aske dhim a question, to which Arum replied. The reporter sais "that's not what you told me last night", Arum quick as ever with a quip, said "Yesterday I was telling lies, today I'm telling the truth". A pretty sharp on-the-spot answer. Even so, pretty smart, and now it's in the history books.

That has caused. a whole generation of ignoramuses to repeat this as "proof" that Arum inever tells the truth. As if there are no other promoters who tell lies...... only HE.

Don't slant truth with lies. You are referring to the late 1990s when IBF Chief Bobby Lee was charged with Money Laundering, Extortion, and Tax evason. 42 people were , some charged and some as witnesses. Arum was a witness. When he was sworn under oath, he told the truth. You guys have no idea how much respect lawyers have for a sworn oath; when under oath, they MUST tell the truth..
