    Couple of things...

I don’t get why people are so upset with these rematch clauses, it makes sense? If you were the fighter you would want the same would you not? Don’t take the match if you don’t want one. It’s a trade off, Lara was offered the chance of a lifetime and probably a career high purse, so the clause is a necessary evil

As far as Lara being a slave now, if he’s forced to rematch JW he will make more money than whatever his next fight would be going his own route. Plus he will now get wheeled out on matchroom shows to fight uk prospects, he is set for life!

Finally, let’s face it, Lara looked poor, quite slow, quite flat footed just heavy handed. Problem is JW fought to Lara’s strengths! If he gets his head right and boxes to a game plan he wins the rematch easily. (Providing he’s the same fighter he was, not sure after that beating)

      Preach.

People just hate Hearn, which I get, but I don't get how it blinds them to facts. Just undermine themselves.

Lara has probably never felt as good as he does right now, and he should, he's just changed his life. But people are talking as if Hearn now has him tied into a contract meaning he does his gardening in Brentwood in between fighting for free lol

BOXING IS A BUSINESS AND NOT A SPORT. So many people talk as if they're experts and can't get their heads round that simple fact. Always has been, always will.

Go watch amateur boxing if you're all about rankings and purist pugilism.

If the decide not to do the rematch I would love to see who Lara fights and for how much.

Imagine if the so the rematch in Leeds in from of 25,000 he will rake it in

The fella has been given the chance of a lifetime and credit to him he took it!

          Spot on.

If he gets the rematch, and say its late summer in front of a packed Headingley (God willing!) - it would be like a lottery win for Lara.

Plus even if he doesn't get the rematch, as if he wont get some great paydays on Canelo or other DAZN undercards now.

People just love to hate Hearn, but love him or hate him, he makes his fighters (and often their opponents) ALOT of money.

You're right, there was no title at stake. I forgot Josh dumped the belt. Lara still better watch his back.

Hearn is desperate to make amazing things for Josh but it's a real big ask. Josh is good, he's just not quite good enough.
Needs to change his style IMO. He plants his feet and throws power punches like he wants to go to war, but he can't crack an egg. It's like if Paulie wanted to go Mexican Style.

I have a friend in the UK who was a boxer in his youth like myself, and he told me that over there they really only teach you one style, and it's the reason a lot of the British fighters can't adapt on the fly. Any truth to that?

Yep that's exactly how I see it. Planting your feet and throwing bombs come at the expense of movement and defence so the bombs really need to make their mark and unfortunately with Warrington they don't, especially when he's throwing them at a brick faced tough Mexican.

His style was overwhelming opposition at a lower level and he is no bum and no mug but at the elite level his style is going to leave himself open to a world of trouble against like minded punchers and the slicker fighters.

As for the other bit of your post id love to defend my country's gyms and say you are wrong but I hear the same thing. Not everywhere but as a standard there is a general hymn list of general Boxing basics like stance and steps and combinations and it's adhered to like super glue.

I bet some kids have gone in there with exceptional talents and had them chipped off them so they can focus on standard technique.

Same happened in Soccer for a long long time. Its only this last generation that seem to of really broken the British mould with some foreign influence and we are already seeing an improvement in our national team.

So yeah I really can believe that it happens in Boxing too.
